Meeting was called to order at 7:15 by Commissioner Mike Robole. Guests Andrew Pillsbury – Minnesota Positive Coaching Alliance Described the program – they have books and conduct workshops to coaches guiding them to facilitate winning while teaching life lessons through sports. They also have workshops for parents focusing on life lessons as they relate to sports and providing a guideline for parent conduct. Tom Cardella – came to discuss the possibility of merging traveling and in house baseball. The idea is to have one program that can be a feeder program to the high school. A model for how it could work: kids would try out and we would fill traveling rosters with full teams (as opposed to picking up kids from other communities to fill in rosters). Any other kids would participate in the in house program. The in house program has already connected with other communities to play a 14 game season with a year-end tournament. The in house team could add tournaments as they wish. The board was asked to consider this option. Mike R. will follow up with us Aug 18. Old Business
Review / Approve meeting minutes from July – Brian S. motioned to approve. Sean Flynn seconded. With the following changes – corrections as to who was present/absent and that banners need to be returned from coaches.
Board Reports: 13-15 Age Group Coordinator – no report 10-12 Age Group Coordinator – no report Treasurer – current financial report appears to be close to budget Secretary – no report Concessions – plan is to get out of the concession business Equipment – Brian will send out update as to turn in date. Fields – Jeff Leuhers said he would be field coordinator next year. Tournament Registrar – no report Tournament Coordinator – no report Uniform Coordinator – presented 3 competitive bids for sublimated jerseys Tryout Coordinator – coaches are turning in coaches evaluations tomorrow night Website Coordinator – no report New Business
