Meeting was called to order at 7:01 by Commissioner Mike Robole.
Old Business Review / Approve meeting minutes from Jan – Jason S. motioned, Brian S. seconded, approved unanimously. Coach Development – MN Twins April 19 9am-12pm AVHS Gym, mandatory for all coaches MN Mash contract for coach development reviewed, motion from Tom P. to approve contract, seconded by Brian S. unanimously approved. Coaches Interviews Board Reports: 13-15 Age Group Coordinator – No report 10-12 Age Group Coordinator Treasurer o Registration deposits made. Tournament deposits will be made.
Secretary o No report Concessions o No report Equipment o Update on Yellow Diamond baseballs. Will be picking them up soon. Fields o Presented report on needs at each field o Proposal to purchase hose reel and trailer as a water/de-water unit o Other needs for the fields detailed in report from Kirby. Brian S. motioned to approve Kirby’s list of field needs less 2 L-screens which we have in the Field House basement, Trevor seconded. Unanimously approved. o Fencing quote from Midwest Fence came in too high for consideration this year. Tournament Registrar o Discussion regarding whether AVHS will run the 15AAA tournament on June 13-15. Discussion will take place at Booster meeting. Tournament Coordinator o No report Uniform Coordinator o There are 5 kids who registered for baseball but have not ordered uniforms. Bill will follow up tonight. New Business Tryout Responsibilities – Mike went over responsibilities for board members for tryouts. Board members should show up 15 min prior to start of session to prepare. Number of Kids/Number of Teams – 3 teams at 10YO level – we’ll pick up 3 kids from Farmington who were cut; 2 teams at 11YO level; 2 teams at 12 YO level; 3 teams at 13 YO level; 3 teams at 14YO level; 1 team at 15YO level or option of Legion team. Levels of Play - Survey results show the following preferences: 11YO AAA, A; 12YO AAA, A; 13YO AAA, AA, A; 14YO AAA, AA, A. 10YO not surveyed, they will have AAA, AA, A; and 15YO not surveyed. Our tournaments affected by our level of play – discussed the tournaments we run but don’t have a team for. They run with tournaments we have teams for and are later in June so we’ll be able to discuss and secure help after teams are formed. Injured player – cannot try out. High school evaluators will work with him to do the skills he is able to do and coaches eval will count for greater weight.
Hockey Playoffs – There are games on Sat that conflict with tryouts. We will suggest the kids do ground balls Fri night and fly balls/throwing at 7am to work around hockey games.
