Meeting was called to order at 7:01 by Commissioner Mike Robole.
Old Business Review / Approve meeting minutes from Jan – Brian O. motioned, Lois W. seconded, approved unanimously. Coach Development – MN Twins April 19 9am-12pm AVHS Gym, mandatory for a coach from every team Picked up several players from other communities to fill in gaps Reviewed coaching assignments Board Reports: 13-15 Age Group Coordinator – No report 10-12 Age Group Coordinator – No report Treasurer – No report Secretary – No report
Concessions o Reviewing past year’s binder. Suggestion was made to scale back on offerings. o Concerned about covering 2 tournaments on weekend of 6/13. We have offered it as a fundraiser opportunity to Cooperstown families. Equipment o Do we want a Tanner Tee in each bag? $70 ea. Tom will check with a contact at his work to see if he can have them made for less. o Do we want a Fungo bat in each bag? Fields o Check on Porta Potty at AVHS o Kirby picked up water pump and trailer o One of the pitching machine tires needs replacement Tournament Registrar o Number of teams participating in our tournaments is up. We are just looking for a few teams to fill up tournaments. Tournament Coordinator – No report Uniform Coordinator o In good shape, but there are a few late registrants that will have to be a separate order. o For next year, we’ll likely have to shift to sublimated jerseys (non-personalized) Tryout Coordinator o The Dome is reserved for 3/14/15 for 8 hrs to do the whole tryout in one day at one location; appears this might be conflict with state basketball tournaments; suggested looking for alternative date o Discussed percentage breakdowns for tryouts. Considering 24% soft toss, 24% live pitching, 24% infield, 24% outfield, 4% running. o Use high school kids to help with tryouts (first base, fly balls, etc) o Make up session for excused absences – we need to review this Website Coordinator – No report
New Business Board Terms Ending – There will be 5 terms ending. Board was asked to put feelers out to find new members. VAA voted to not be associated with the 10AA State Tourney in the future.
