1 Layer Cake (40– 10” Squares) AND 1 Jelly Roll of the same line as the Layer Cake (you will only use 20 strips) OR 20 Fat Quarters (10 Light and 10 Dark) 1/2 yard of fabric for framing border 5/8 yard of fabric for binding (7 - 2 1/2” strips)

5 yards backing 64” x 92” of batting 6” x 24” Square Up Ruler Rotary Cutter 1/4” machine foot Machine needle Neutral piecing thread

Sewing Machine in good working order with cords
Sewing supplies such as: pins, seam ripper, snips, marking tool, etc. Preparation prior to class: Read through the pattern
If you are using Fat Quarters, look on page 2 of the pattern to cut out your 10” blocks and strips for piano key border

Divide forty 10” squares into stacks of twenty light and twenty dark
