DODGE COUNTY WILDCAT HOCKEY BOOSTER CLUB MINUTES May 12, 2014 ATTENDEES: Lisa Thoe, Tom Rasmussen, Tressa Smallbrock, Bruce Schillo, Michael Schupert, Cathy Schupert, Brenda Bidwell, Tim Lewis, Chad Smallbrock, Tina Suhr, John Determan, Stephanie Kraus, Jeff Kraus, Terry Sobotta, Mark Blaisdell, Lisa Weber-Sheridan, Scott Sheridan, Steve Larson
May 2014 Meeting was called to order April 2014 Minutes Motion to Approve: Terry Sobotta / 2ND : Bruce Schillo / Approved Treasurer’s Report Motion to Approve: Jeff Kraus / 2ND: Terry Sobotta / Approved HS Boys Team Update – Coach Hoffman No update HS Girls Team Update – Coach Gunderson Held team meeting last month with all returning and possible new players to talk about upcoming season, booster club, and mandatory fees to explain how the process works. Project approximately 30 girls next year plus or minus for a full JV and Varsity. The girls just finished up the USA National Development tryout process with the following breakdown: Advanced 15’s o 3 DC girls made the section team o 2 DC girls made the next stage and will be playing in the St. Cloud Select Camp Advanced 16’s o 5 DC girls made the Section 1 team and played in the festival and took second o 1 DC girl made the Final 54’s (best 27 forwards, 18 defense and 6 goalies in age class in MN) Advanced 17’s o 4 DC girls made the section 1 team that placed second in the festival o 4 DC girls then made the final 54’s(same as above) o 2 DC girls made the USA National Camp which will be in July in St. Cloud(best players in USA in age group) This year had 4 players commit to Division 1 Hockey Scholarships o Emily Gunderson- SR Lindenwood University o Darby Dodds- SR Lindenwood University o Dana Rasmussen- JR Ohio State University o Katie Robinson- Soph University of Minnesota HS Girls and Boys are petitioning to go Single A in 2015 season. Hearings will be in January. New Business 2014 Kiwanis Hockey Festival Program Ad
o There was discussion about the requested fee for the tournament program advertisement. It was suggested that coaching staff contact the tournament coordinator to determine if the ad is mandatory. If so, a boy’s team representative should contact the KM School to request it be included in the registration fee covered by the school. o Agenda Item -TABLED
Culligan Partnership o There was discussion regarding the partnership with Culligan. There were several questions regarding the total cost of the project, sponsorships, length of terms, maintenance, etc. Tom Rasmussen will work on getting more information for the next meeting. o Agenda Item -TABLED Golf Tournament o The tournament will be at the Dodge Country Club on August 9, 2014. o Jeremy Gunderson will chair the committee and begin scheduling planning meetings, preparing flyers, etc. Team Photos o Terry Sobotta made a suggestion that the HS Boys and Girls teams possibly utilize the same photographer for team and individual photos in the future. o This past season, the boys’ team used a local photopgrapher and the girls’ team used Ressler Photography. o There was discussion about getting bids from additional photographers. o Lisa Thoe indicated that the boys’ team has already made arrangements with Tiffany’s Photography for the upcoming season. o Information will be sent from Lisa Thoe to Tressa Smallbrock to be shared with the girls’ team.
