Bloomsburg University Cross Country/Track & Field Teams What a month it has been! It’s hard to believe that we are already fast approaching our outdoor conference meet. Just a month ago, we were still reveling in our indoor successes, but the outdoor season has really taken off now, and we’ve had some exciting performances over the past four weeks.
WEEKLY STANDOUTS Lynchburg Invitational Stephen Laird
ESU—Kutztown Tri-Meet James Wilson
Coach P Open (Moravian) Alana Jacaruso
Bison Open (Bucknell) Keelan McDonald
In his javelin debut as a Husky, Stephen threw 62.89, a distance that currently sits at #17 on the national list!
James came away with the 800m win, running sub 2:00 despite chilly conditions. He has continued to drop significant time with each meet since then!
Alana had a big PR and qualified for PSACs with her outstanding performance in the 1500m!
In Keelan’s first ever 10K race, she not only qualified for PSACs, but also hit a Provisional mark, and stands at 4th in the conference!
Amanda Aulenbach Debuts in the Heptathlon
BU to Host Championships!
Freshman Amanda Aulenbach completed her first ever heptathlon at Kutztown’s Mondschein Multi Meet on April 12-13. On day one, Amanda recorded personalbest performances in all four of the events contested that day (hurdles, high jump, shot put, and the 200m dash). Her stellar start set her up well the next day, where she continued her momentum with a huge throw in the javelin, and an outstanding 800m finish. She placed 5th out of 22 competitors, qualified for the conference meet, and came up just short of 4,000 points. Her incredible effort ranks her #2 all-time for Bloomsburg!
Bloomsburg will host the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from Thursday, May 4th - Saturday, May 6th. We invite all fans/friends of the program to attend! We are very excited to bring back a lot of our alumni for this event and use this meet as a great opportunity to connect with all of our supporters! Meet information and details will be found on the BU Huskies website as we approach the event. Alumni!
