Trapezoid:

Since the trapezoid and hexagon are the only new shapes to first grade, shapes introduced in kindergarten are reviewed in this lesson (circle, square, rectangle, triangle). Suggested manipulatives for this lesson include sticks (e.g. toothpicks, popsicle sticks, tongue depressors, etc.) and clay. Consider using other materials besides sticks and clay, if available.
