We will review alphabet letter names and sounds for letters a-p and introduce q and r. We will also be working on capital letters. Many of you have asked what you can do to help your child. Here are some areas of need: 1. Do the daily assignment in the homework packet. It will be due on Oct. 31st. 2. Review the letter names and signal for each letter with the letter sound. 3. Go over the sight words listed in this newsletter. Go over them every day like flash cards. You don’t have to spend a lot of time-it is the consistency that counts! 4. Don’t forget to read library books and record them on the reading log. This month’s goal is 15 books. The reading log is part of their homework and is recorded on their report card. Upcoming events: Wed. Oct. 17th wear red for Clifford’s birthday celebration! No school October 18th and 19th for fall break. Sat. Nov. 3rd-Fall carnival 5-8 p.m. fun, food and games at the Elementary School-everyone is invited!
We will be taking a trip to Sandy Garrett’s pumpkin patch this Wednesday, October 17th. We will leave at 9:00 a.m. and return by 11:00 a.m. Pumpkins will cost 1$. Sandy requests that no extra pumpkins be purchased-due to a shortage this year. No open toed shoes.
