The feedback on the Pitch Smart Guidelines in Mustang Black was good more kids got to pitch and it was simpler to keep track of. One team had a complaint because they didn’t understand the rules. D. Bronco: The Bronco Black division also used the Pitch Smart Guidelines. The feedback has also been good. More pitchers were used, which successfully achieved the goal of arm health and safety. Bob Grieder would like to recommend for interleague as well. There was a discussion of whether to include Camarillo in the Bronco Black division. If so, it was suggested that we should ensure the NP teams are still playing many games against each other. In the Pony Black division this year, there were complaints that the NP teams only played each other once since there were so many teams. E. Pony: No report.

B. CRPD Matching Grant: With the approved CRPD matching grant, NPPB’s expenditure for the netting at DV will be $4,350. Bob Grieder reached out to one company for a bid, and will obtain two more bids. He made a motion to approve $4,350 pending review of next year’s budget. The motion was second and approved. C. Colt Division Update: The league will look into applying for the CRPD matching grant to convert the Bronco field to a Pony/Colt field. This will not be for the upcoming year. Brandon Hill will look into a Colt Division at DV. D. Sequoia Middle School: A long-term contract was signed with CVUSD for the use of the baseball fields at Sequoia. The league is responsible for maintaining the grass with the fence. Jason suggested we hire someone to maintain it. 5.
NEW BUSINESS A. Future Improvements: Jason Kerns presented 3 proposals for future improvements: 1) installing a 3rd batting cage stall and/or soft-toss area, 2) better storage of the Shetland pitching machines, and 3) covered dugouts at all the DV fields. B. 2016-2017 Board Positions: An email regarding next year’s board and advisory council positions will be sent out. If anyone is not planning on returning, they have been asked to help find a replacement. C. Tournament Update: Kevin Wright announced that the Pre-4th tournament was extremely successful. The league received $14,000 in gate fees and the snack shack brought in $12,000. The league also received $5,500 from USSSA for the Memorial Tournament. Kevin will need to analyze the final numbers once payments to vendors have been processed. Lou Shubin is now helping with the financials. D. PONY Tournaments: The 13u White team voted to forfeit all games (not appear) in the PONY Sanctioned regionals allstar playoff games hosted by Camarillo Pony. Newbury Park Pony Baseball paid the $350 entry fee to Camarillo Pony because our team forfeited within 48 hours. Our league may be subject to additional fines from PONY National and we may not be allowed to enter a “white” team again in the Pony division for next year. The board approved a motion that each of the 13 families reimburse NPPB $30 each or that the team submits one check for $350. Failure to pay will result in that player not being allowed to play again in NPPB.

FALL BALL UPDATE: Field permits have been set up. They are the same as last year, with the exception of one additional night at Del Prado. All Star Athletics would like to hold a free clinic for fall ball managers.
