THE SERIES: NJCU leads the alltime series, 17-15-5, and is 8-1-1 against the Roadrunners since 2000. The Gothic Knights are unbeaten in their last six games against RCNJ. LAST MEETING: October 1, 2008 in Mahwah. The game ended in a 1-1 tie. LAST TIME OUT FOR NJCU: Rutgers-Newark scored twice early in the first half and in a defensive battle, downed the Knights, 2-0. LAST TIME OUT FOR RAMAPO: The Roadrunners dropped a 4-1 decision at Richard Stockton. Justin Stone had a first half goal for Ramapo before the Ospreys scored three times in the second half. YOUNG STANDOUT: RCNJ freshman Rob Santaniello has had a solid opening month of the season. The NJAC Offensive Player of the Week in week one, he has been tabbed NJAC Rookie of the Week each of the last two weeks. AVANS vs. SANTANIELLO: RCNJ’s Santaniello (13 goals, 28 points) and NJCU’s WALTER AVANS (10 goals, 20 points) are the top two scorers in the NJAC. They are the only players in the league with at least 10 goals and 20 or more points. KALONJI vs. RAMAPO: NANSHA KALONJI faces Ramapo for the first time as NJCU’s head coach. He served as an assistant for RCNJ the last two years. He was inducted in the Ramapo Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. He owns the RCNJ single-season records for goals (19) and assists (21).

He hopes to become a coach afte r g rad uat io n . • Did you know: He has visited China. • High School: Played four years of soccer at Montclair High School for coaches Rick Jacobs and Jack Webber. A part of two state championship teams in 2002 and 2003. He earned AllState and All-Essex County honors in 2004 and 2005. As a junior, returned from an injury midseason to solidify a unit that gave up only nine goals while posting a 20-2 record. •
