Sacred Heart Reception Newsletter Issue 23– Friday 23rd March Newsletters Please read both this newsletter and the main school newsletter on a Friday to ensure no messages are missed. Some ‘whole school’ information will only be found in the main newsletter. Liturgies On Thursday, Miss Wise’s class welcomed their families into school to share their spring term liturgy. The liturgy was all about Lent being a time to grown in love to be more like Jesus and look forward to Easter. We asked God to help us to grow in kindness, love and generosity and thought about how we could show God's love to one another going forward. To show our love to our families, we gave a gift of a seed. We asked our families to plant the seed, help it to grow and remember to let God's love grow in their lives. Thank you to all those who attended and to the parents who very kindly organised refreshments. Lenten penny challenge The children are collecting 1p and 2p coins for our “Lenten penny challenge” which will take place on 26th March. Parents are invited into school, to help their child in the challenge. Each class use the pennies they have collected to make ‘the longest and straightest line they can’ on the yard. (Reception often need lots of help!) When the time is up, Mr Naughton chooses a winning class. Come on Reception we can do it! Cake Sales Please be aware that children are never left out of cake sales in the Early Years. If a child does not bring money then they are always given something little to ensure they are included. Easter Egg Competition As always we will be holding our annual Easter Egg competition on the last day of term, with special prizes donated by the Friends; time to start thinking about what your decorated egg will be. Eggs can be dropped off from 8.30am (or Breakfast Club earlier), Parents can view from 8.50am and children can attend from 9.05am. The eggs will be judged by a special guest at 9.15 am and winners will be chosen.
