ROCK - CENTRAL MICHIGAN STORYLINES
• The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team will go through its final dress rehearsal before the start of the 2016-17 season when it travels to Mount Pleasant, Michigan for an exhibition game against Central Michigan University Saturday at 1:30 p.m. • Slippery Rock lost to the University of Tennessee, 83-48, in its first exhibition game of the season on Nov. 3. • While unofficial, the Tennessee game marked the Slippery Rock debuts for seven of the nine players that saw the floor. • Merdic Green led the way for Slippery Rock at Tennessee with a game-high 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and a 2-for-3 effort from the foul line. Green added six rebounds, five of which came on the offensive glass, as well as one block in 33 minutes. • Khyree Wooten shared the backcourt with Green against the Volunteers and had a great all-around game with 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals. • Slippery Rock held a +9 rebound margin (44-35) against Tennessee thanks in no small part to 20 offensive rebounds. The Rock’s success on the offensive glass is nothing new as Slippery Rock led all of Division II in offensive rebounds per game in 2014-15 and ranked eighth in the nation in the category a year ago.

• The Slippery Rock University men’s basketball team will go through its final dress rehearsal before the start of the 2016-17 season when it travels to Mount Pleasant, Michigan for an exhibition game against Central Michigan University Saturday at 1:30 p.m. • Slippery Rock lost to the University of Tennessee, 83-48, in its first exhibition game of the season on Nov. 3. • While unofficial, the Tennessee game marked the Slippery Rock debuts for seven of the nine players that saw the floor. • Merdic Green led the way for Slippery Rock at Tennessee with a game-high 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and a 2-for-3 effort from the foul line. Green added six rebounds, five of which came on the offensive glass, as well as one block in 33 minutes. • Khyree Wooten shared the backcourt with Green against the Volunteers and had a great all-around game with 10 points, six rebounds, one assist and two steals. • Slippery Rock held a +9 rebound margin (44-35) against Tennessee thanks in no small part to 20 offensive rebounds. The Rock’s success on the offensive glass is nothing new as Slippery Rock led all of Division II in offensive rebounds per game in 2014-15 and ranked eighth in the nation in the category a year ago.
