SUPERNATURAL WEEK 2 HEAVEN

1. What home are we looking forward to when we trust and follow Jesus? Heaven

Small Group Welcome

Choose a few review questions.

1. Introduce yourself, and welcome new kids by name.

1. What is Heaven? Heaven is a real place where the spirits of everyone who trusts and follows Jesus go to live with God forever when they die.

2. Kids share what happened during the past week. 3. Check up on past week’s prayer requests and events.

2. What is our spirit? It’s who we really are. God gave us our spirit, and our spirit won’t die when our body dies.

4. Discuss the Welcome Question: If you could pick a place to live forever, where would you live?

3. When does Heaven become your spirit’s true home? When you choose to trust and follow Jesus as Lord

Small Group Activity

4. Why do we have to wait until we die to go to Heaven? Only our spirit can go to Heaven, and our spirit can’t leave our body to go to Heaven until we die.

You’ll Need • Heaven Seek and Find activity sheet (1 per kid) • Markers (1 set per group)

5. Why do you think God didn’t tell us everything about Heaven in the Bible? Answers will vary.

To Do 1. Give each kid a Heaven Seek and Find activity sheet.

Choose an action step question.

2. Kids circle all of the hidden pictures on the sheet.

1. How can knowing Heaven is your true home help you out each day? When bad things happen, you can always remember this place isn’t your real home — Heaven is.

3. As kids search, read a Bible verse from the back of the sheet and ask kids which picture you’re reading about. 4. Kids guess. If they’re right, read the rest of the picture’s description.

2. Name some people you know who don’t follow Jesus. Share Jesus with them this week! Answers will vary.

5. Repeat steps 3-4, choosing pictures to read about in any order you want.

Pray Together

6. If time allows, kids color the sheet and quiz each other about the objects.

1. Ask kids to share things they’d like you to pray about. 3. Pray together over all the prayer requests.

1. Continue coloring the Heaven Seek and Find, and discuss earning points by returning the Challenge Card.

2. When a kid from your Small Group leaves, say something positive and specific to their family. 3. Encourage families to do the Challenge Card together.
