LAST GAME: Prince George suffered their fourth regulation loss Friday, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Kamloops Blazers at the CN Centre. Kamloops scored three power-play goals and added an empty-net goal late, as they snapped a ninegame losing streak. It was Kamloops’ second straight win in Prince George dating back to last season, as they edged the Cougars 2-1 in a shootout back on March 18th. Kody McDonald opened the scoring eight and half minutes into the first period, extending his point streak to six games. Jared Bethune set up McDonald’s goal and now has points in six straight as well. Tavin Grant suffered the loss in net, as he made 17 stops on 20 shots. Garrett Pilon paced the Kamloops offense, as the Washington Capitals draft pick had a goal and three points in the win and was named first star. Dylan Ferguson picked up his first win of the season, stopping 24 of 25 shots, including 18 over the final two periods.
HOME STAND: Tonight, is the Cougars’ fifth game of a five-game home stand and so far through four games they’re 1-12-0; last year the Cougars were 22-10-1-3 at the CN Centre. Kamloops is now 1-4-0-0 on the road and last year they lost three of four games in Prince George in the regular season series.

Last night was the first game Dennis Cholowski was held pointless, as he had eight points in his previous six. Joel Lakusta has four assists in his last four games, heading into tonight’s game versus the Blazers. Peter Kope picked up his first career WHL point in just his second career game Friday, as he drew an assist on McDonald’s goal. Kope was a fifth-round pick by the Cougars, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. Kamloops’ Garrett Pilon has a three-game point streak (1-4-5) coming into tonight and has overtaken the team scoring lead from Nick Chyzowski, with four goals and 10 points in 10 games. Dating back to Wednesday against Calgary, Blazers’ goaltender Dylan Ferguson has stopped 76 of the last 81 shots he’s faced; a .938 save percentage over his last two games.
