Monday’s game was originally scheduled on Saturday but was postponed due to inclement weather. Edgewood College’s games against Wisconsin Lutheran on Sunday were still played and the Warriors came from behind both times to pull out the sweep. The Eagles scored in the second, third and fourth innings in the first game against WLC to go up 4-1. Sydney Cramer had the big hit early on with a two-RBI single to get the team on the board. Jackie Diesch’s RBI double in the sixth put the Eagles up three going into the bottom of the sixth. The Warriors scored four the next half inning after three hits to lead off the frame, a two-RBI triple and a wild pitch. Sabrina Maicke led off the seventh with a single and reached third base but the Eagles couldn’t find a way to tie things up. The Eagles led 2-0 after four innings in the nightcap, but again the Warriors scored five runs over their final two trips to the plate to come away with the win. Jordan Anderson had a double and a single with an RBI in the only multi-hit game by an Edgewood College player. Whitmus went 5.1 innings in the circle and allowed seven hits.
About the Muskies Lakeland College went 2-2 at the Finlandia Dome Tournament in late February and finished the Clermont Spring Games with a 6-4 mark. All four of their losses in Florida came by two runs or less. Jocelyn Yeager (.481), Calie Delisi (.432) and Rosa Gonzalez (.409) lead the Muskies in hitting. Their .334 mark as a team sits as the fourth-highest in the NACC so far this year.
