"
“The Legend of King Arthur” There is no legend more famous in Britain than the Legend of King Arthur. It is said he was the son of King Uther Pendragon and that he was heir to the throne. However, Arthur was born in troubled times, so he was raised in secret, so that one day he could become King. Knowing that when King Uther Pendragon died many people would want to be king, Merlin, a wise wizard, used his magic to place a sword in a stone. Only the real king would be able to pull the sword out when it was the right time, and that was King Arthur!

"
Many people tried to free the sword from the magical stone, but each of them failed. Arthur however pulled on the sword and it slid easily out of the stone! After he became King, he gathered many good knights around the famous ‘Knights of the Round table’. With these loyal Knights he was able to defeat the invading Saxons at the battle of Mount Badon. There are many different tales of King Arthur, and we have been reading the most popular. Have you heard of anything else?

Progressive tenses We use perfect progressive tenses to highlight the continuous duration of an action mentioned:
I’ve been studying hard recently She had been reading for hours before her father arrived He will have been travelling for two weeks before he arrives home NB: Simple perfect tenses do not show us a continual action rather they show us show us habits or events which are, have, or will happen.
