Truth Flowing from One Generation to the Next— Through Strong Heart Connections
STUDENTS PAGE November 30—December 3, 2011 Seeing Everyone Worship God—Richard Ross, Ph.D. 1. Heart Surprise (Today a parent goes first): When it’s your turn, say: It gives me joy to know you will love my children. I want you to be in their lives. I also want to share our family traditions with them. One tradition I will share is . . . Something from the Heart Surprise I want to remember:
2. Read Scripture: Psalm 86:8-10.
Truth • God’s actions result in all the nations worshiping and glorifying Him. Untruths • There is no reason to worship God. • Only bored Christians worry about glorifying God. • God has never done anything that would deserve worship.
3. Explore Scripture: Write what you want to remember about the Scriptures.
4. Think It Through: Ask: Have you ever seen a one-sided contest, where everyone knew the outcome and/or winner before the event even began? Explain that this is how things work with God. Say: He wins before the contest ever begins. He is awesome, absolute, eternal, complete, and perfect. He wins! Because He wins, it is a sure thing that nations and the world will praise and glorify Him. It becomes a question of when, not if. Point out that we need to do what we can to help people around the world acknowledge God and worship Him sooner, rather than later. 5. Nail It Down: A parent will lead this step. 6. Pray: Say: To complete each sentence, say: “all nations will praise Him.” 1. He created every nation and . . . 2. He alone is God and . . . 3. No other being is capable of matching His deeds and . . . 4. All nations will recognize His greatness and . . . 5. We know He is a faithful God and . . . Close this time with your own personal prayer. 7. Blessing: Listen as your parent blesses the family. Teen Tip: Ask one of your parents to share a spiritual truth they’ve learned recently. Thank your parent for focusing on the truths that God gives him or her. Copyright 2011 LifeWay Press. All rights reserved.
