You give me freedom and responsibility you would not give to someone younger. For example, you respected my growth when you began letting me . . . 2. Read Scripture: Exodus 33:15-20; Mark 12:28-33
Truth • Loving God with your whole being matters more than anything. Untruths • Thinking that God exists matters more than having a relationship with Him. • Obeying God and being righteous matters more than having a relationship with Him. • Believing God and trusting what He says matters more than having a relationship with Him.
3. Explore Scripture: Write what you want to remember about the Scriptures.
4. Think It Through: In most card games, one card beats another. Pretend the statements below are cards. Call out various pairs of “cards” and lead the family to decide which one beats (is more important than) the other. Keep in mind the Scripture passage for today. Card One: Believing God exists. Card Two: Loving God with all of one’s being. Card Three: Obeying God’s commandments. Card Four: Believing what God says. Emphasize that loving God is the “card” that wins every time. Say: The other cards are important, but unless we truly love God, they all fall short. 5. Nail It Down: A parent will lead this activity. 6. Pray: A parent will lead today’s prayer. 7. Blessing: Listen as your parent blesses the family. Teen Tip: Ask your parents: If there were one phrase or sentence that you would want me to say to you every day, what would it be?
