All Welcome

Dear Parents: I’m singing that old song “It’s the most wonderful time of the year” in my head a lot these days. It certainly is a wonderful time to share Christ’s love with preschoolers and their families. I know it’s a very busy time and the demands on parents are at its peak, but we at school desire to keep the focus on Jesus; the reason for the season! As talk of cleaver, mischievous elves and jolly St Nick are brought up, we listen and share the joy and excitement that the child expresses. You will see and hear our songs, games and art projects will focus for the next 2 weeks about Jesus, the best gift we will ever receive. Purple the color for royalty is our monthly color. Our letters are Xx and Hh. Bible stories this month will include “The First Christmas” and “Shepherds Hear Good News.” All of our classes are busy creating a special Little Lambs gift tradition for their parents. The Pre-K classes are getting ready for their play, The First Christmas; right from the Bible story in Luke. Everyone will participate in a “Happy Birthday Jesus” party with their class on their last regularly scheduled school day. Detailed letters have been sent home. On behalf of LLPS and First Lutheran Church, we wish you and your family a safe, blessed and JOY-filled Christmas. Blessings, Angie Hohl Saturday, December 9th 9am-5pm Babysitting & Gift Wrapping Do you need to do some kid free Christmas shopping? First Lutheran Church’s Youth Group will watch your little ones while you shop. And when you return, they will also wrap gifts. There will be games, snacks, pizza, movies and more. All ages welcome. Cost: Donation. Please contact Susan Fogleman at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Inclement Weather Hopefully I am too early with this announcement but just want to remind you of our policy: If Calvert County Public schools are closed due to inclement weather, we will be closed. If they open 2 hours late, we will open on time unless we contact you. If they close early, we will assess the situation and make a decision as early as possible and contact families if we need to close early.

“But, the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people, Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you: He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you; You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Luke 2;10-12 What do you say Pre K? Merry Christmas! These next few weeks will be filled with activities to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We will be practicing our sorting skills with a Nativity sort and creating a parent gift that involves a stable. You will surely be surprised when you see what your little lamb has made. Great fun will be had when we create our own gingerbread men and we will even make a gingerbread man book. We will continue to work on our letters of the week and practice for our Christmas program. Christmas Blessings, Stephanie and Kristin Renee’ and Jenn

Owl Eyes on the 3s December is a month of celebrating the birth of Jesus. We will make an advent calendar for home to help everyone count the days until Christmas. We will make angels with glitter during our “A” week. While making Christmas trees, we will get to practice cutting straight lines. We will also play a few counting and matching games centered around our Christmas theme. There will be several top secret projects this month as we make some gifts for our families. Blessings, Rebekah, Jenny Sandy & Joanne

News for the 2s Such fun was had by all of our 2’s as we talked about things we are grateful for. Jenny and I are grateful for such a loving group. December is a month of celebrating the birth of Jesus. We have a lot special projects that we will begin working on. We will learn about shapes as we make a shape angel. We will learn a song about 5 Little Reindeer and we will also sing favorites like “Jingle Bells” with a little lamb twist. Our special days this month are purple day and our “Happy Birthday Jesus” party. We look forward to seeing you all. A gentle reminder that as the weather turns colder you may want to include a hat and mittens in your child’s backpack. Blessings, Jenny B, Jenny W & Mary

What friend looked sad? Who did you help? Who helped you? What made you feel excited?
