Dear Parents: As I prepare this note, we are still experiencing mild weather. I am sure the cooler temps are in our forecast. We have enjoyed going outside and playing in the sunshine! I won’t complain. This month at school brings talk of Food/Nutrition and Thanksgiving. Our letters will be Mm, Oo, Tt and Aa. When we return from break we will discuss Advent/Christmas. Our Bible stories this month will include “God Gives Manna To Eat”, “The Believers in Corinth Help Others”, “Only One Says Thank-You to Jesus” and “An Angel Visits Mary”. Our color of the month is Brown. We are looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving Feast on Friday, November 17, 2017. The Twos will have a regularly scheduled class day and have a feast-two year old style (pretty much routine using their normal day and activities). All 3 year olds and Pre K classes will gather for a Feast that will begin in the sanctuary at 11:45. A detailed letter will be sent home soon. I would like to give a BIG thank you to all who helped make Fall Fun Day so successful. To all those that donated items and gave your time to put together a great morning of fun, my deepest thanks. I am already planning for next year!

First Lutheran Church’s Youth Group will watch your little ones while you shop. And when you return, they will also wrap gifts. There will be games, snacks, pizza, movies and more. All ages welcome. Cost: Donation. Please contact Susan Fogleman at [email protected] if you have any questions. Christmas News For those early planners, here is the scoop for Christmas at LLPS. Our tradition is to have a Happy Birthday Jesus Party for each class. All of these parties are held in the child’s class on the last scheduled school day before Christmas break. Each child is encouraged to bring a gift for the school. After Thanksgiving you will find a display in or near your child’s class. You are asked to remove an ornament, purchase the item and wrap it. If you choose more than one item, we ask that you wrap the items as ONE GIFT. Our goal is to have each child open ONE GIFT. The gifts are brought to school the day of the party and the children open the gift they brought. Please label the gift. To: LLPS From: Child’s Name If you choose not to participate, we will have a gift for your child to open. More information will be sent home in early December. News for the 2s

Happy November! This month we will focus on Food /Nutrition and Thanksgiving. We will talk about what a healthy plate should look like and create one together as a combined Pre-K class activity. Turkey Day will be here before you know it. We have lots of fun activities in store. Painting a replica of the Mayflower is always a big hit. Our Five Little Little Turkeys book and turkey feather match will help us with our number recognition. We will end our unit with our “little turkeys” performing in our Thanksgiving program and a tasty feast. Gobble Gobble!!

Thanksgiving is upon the 3s! This month is a busy one starting with our food theme. We will talk about ‘healthy’ and ‘sometimes’ foods and group them as a class. We will also read some fun books about food to go along with related crafts and activities. Our Thanksgiving theme follows where we will share what we are thankful for and the meaning of this special holiday and make some fridge-worthy art as well. Your Little Lamb will be practicing songs to get ready to sing for you as Indians at their Thanksgiving performance on November 17th. The last part of our month, we will make Advent calendars and talk about “The Angel Visits Mary”. We will continue to work with the children on their scissor skills and they will be encouraged to trace their dot names. We will also continue to learn about our letters and Bible stories every week. Once again, as the temperatures cool down, please remember to change out the extra clothes in your child’s bag for season appropriate items.

Hello from the 2s! Here we are already into November. This month is sure to be filled with fun and learning. During our Food theme, we will paint grapes using bubble wrap and learn about eating a rainbow. For our Thanksgiving theme, we will make a Thanksgiving placemat and learn the turkey pokey. We will have our Thanksgiving Feast during our normal class time. A letter will go home soon. Be sure to switch your child’s change of clothes as we head into cooler weather.

What color did you paint with today? What did you make or build? What made you laugh? What friend looked happy?
