Dear Parents: Happy October and welcome again to a new year at Little Lambs. It has been a great month at school getting to know our new families and helping all our students settle into a routine. We currently have 59 students enrolled and have 3 spots open in the T/TH 3s class. If you know someone looking for a great school, send them our way. As I write this note, we are looking forward to our Friends Picnic at Dunkirk Park on Thursday, September 28th. We have a great school year planned and are very excited to share Christ’s love with our preschoolers and their families. Our themes for October will be Safety, Fall, and Food. We will focus on the letters Nn, Dd, Ff and Mm. Our color will be Orange. The Bible stories will include God Keeps Noah And The Animals Safe, God Makes A Promise, Adam & Eve Disobey God, Jericho’s Walls Fall Down and God Gives Manna To Eat. As a reminder, we do not celebrate Halloween at school. We will have a Fall Festival (rain or shine). Please remember I have an open door policy, feel free to discuss with me any cares, compliments or concerns about our preschool. Blessings, Angie Hohl Program Director

News for the 2s

Happy Fall Y’all! The month will kick off with our Safety unit. We will discuss and plan activities around safety topics such as sun and beach safety, traffic safety, and kitchen and fire safety. Look for a colorful traffic light, a sunny beach scene and even some sparkling flames. We continue with our letter of the week handprint art and journaling activities. Please be sure to check our calendar so that your child’s show & tell corresponds to the letter of the week. A calendar is posted outside our classroom door as a reminder. We will round out the month with our Fall unit. Pumpkin dissecting, apple tasting, graphing and a fall fun day are just a few of the fun activities to look forward to.

Happy Fall to our 3’s! It has been a great start to the school year. Last month we learned our school routines, how to use glue, and earned our scissor license. This month we will put our glue skills to good use as we make fire trucks using a variety of shapes. We will learn about being safe at home and learn some safety signs. Later in the month we will use those emerging cutting skills to cut a straight line to make a tree. We will also use a variety of tools to paint fall projects. Fall is also a great time to observe Gods great beauty as nature changes around us. Don’t forget to change your child’s spare clothes to reflect the cooler temperatures as they creep upon us.

Happy Fall from the 2s! We had a fun time getting to know our 2s so far this year. We have settled in nicely to our routine. We have learned simple tasks, like holding our rope when we walk outside and unfolding our napkin for snack. October starts with our Safety theme. We will learn about stop signs and how they can keep us safe and talk about fire safety. For our Fall theme, we will paint with acorns and smell yummy fall scents like cinnamon and pumpkin. We will begin to talk about the cooler weather and the leaves changing colors. Just a friendly reminder as the weather gets cooler, we go outside around 9:30am, so a light jacket may be needed. Also, please be sure your child has a change of clothes in their backpack. Thanks for a great month!

Outdoor Play Just a reminder, we do go outside everyday weather permitting. Please dress your child appropriately for outdoor play. Closed toe shoes work best to navigate our playground equipment and the mulch doesn't bother their little piggies!
