Dear Parents, As I write this letter we really haven't had too many cold days yet. The leaves are really starting to turn and fall. It’s hard to believe November is here already! This month at school we will have units on Food/Nutrition, Thanksgiving and when we return from break… Advent/Christmas… can you believe that? Our letters this month are Rr, Hh, Tt and Aa. Our color is brown. We will focus on the following Bible stories: God Sends Ravens With Food, David Helps Others, Noah Thanks God, and An Angel Visits Mary. We welcome on board Laurie Isles and Becky Stein as substitutes. Laurie is a retired elementary school teacher and her 3 grandchildren are LLPS alum. Becky has 3 sons, her youngest is a former Little Lamb. Becky has many years experience in early childhood. We also welcome back Ardith Harle who will assist with Chapel. Ardith is a deacon of First Lutheran Church and a retired school principal.

We are excited to share a fun Thanksgiving Feast with all our families. Both Feasts will be on Friday, November 18th, 2016. Our two year old class will come at their regularly scheduled time. Their feast will be in their class room. Both Pre K and both 3 years old classes will have a Feast together at 11:30. A detailed note about each feast will be coming home soon.

Thanksgiving Feast & Play Both Pre-K and 3s– 11:30am

With the weather getting cooler now is a great time to change out the clothes in the back pack. Also, remember to label everything sent to school.

Outside Activities We go outside everyday that we can. It will soon be chilly and your child may need a hat, scarf, and or mittens. Since we do not routinely go through backpacks please leave outerwear on top of their coat or in their sleeve of their jacket at drop off time. Label everything please. Thank you so much as it will help us greatly in the classroom trying to get outside in a timely fashion.

Christmas For those early planners, here is what happens at LLPS for Christmas. Our tradition is to have a Happy Birthday Jesus Party for each class. All of these parties are held in the child’s class on the last scheduled school day before Christmas Break. Each child is encouraged to bring a gift for the school. After Thanksgiving you will find a display in or near your child’s class. Your are asked to remove an ornament, purchase the item and wrap it. If you choose more than one item, we ask that you wrap the items as ONE GIFT. Our goal is to have each child open ONE GIFT. The gifts are brought to school the day of the party and the children open the gift they brought. Please label the gift To: LLPS From: Your child’s name. If you choose not to participate we will have a gift for your child to open. More information about each class party will be offered
