Attendance: John Mack, Kevin Suoja, Kim Schwieters, Jeremy L’Allier, JJ Begley, Alex Rogosheske, Dino Marino, Mike Kasel, Jen Harnisch, Dan Lallak Missing: John Thompson
Prior Meeting Minutes Approval - previous minutes voted and approved VP Report – Coach Bags are at the rink ready for pick up on 10/19. There are 6 1st aid kits ready. Treasure Reports – Balance is good and nothing to report on any issues. Next yrs Golf Tourney will be held at Indian Hills Golf Course. Level Directors Bantams – Tryouts went smoothly and nothing to report. Pee Wee – Nothing to report. Squirt – Monday Oct. 28th managers meeting @ fire hall. Jeremy will call Woodbury to see if there is a possibility of getting a goalie for Squirt C Mites – All set and ready. Kelly Taft coordinator. 48 players registered and 49 1st striders signed up. Girls – Girls A-B will have a vote on Nov. 1st on levels and locations. Sponsorships – We have sponsors for all teams. We made $1100 from the MN Wild Fundraiser. We will have 2 more sponsors for the WBC rink. Need to see if we can get more sponsors at the DEC. Recruitment – As of now, we are still growing as an association and need to address the amount of skaters at each level as we grow. Rink Update – Discussion for next meeting
D2 Report – No Parents on the Ice at anytime. Pictures with players need to be off the ice. Roseville Bantam C needs players and Alex will reach out to them for any movement help he can provide. It would be a reduction in player fees for anyone interested in playing. PCA(Positive Coaching Alliance) – 90-120 minute coach meeting and 45 minute parent meeting to teach hockey and coaching in a positive way. Also to teach good parenting on Ice and off ice. Minnesota is the largest PCA association in all states and is not only for Hockey. This meeting is to be required by all coaches and 1 parent of the skater prior to skating on the Ice. Oct 22nd Coaches training and Oct 27th for parents. Will need board members to be present to assist. Oct 24th is 1st Strides/Try Hockey free. Need coaches for 1st strides and helpers. Also need 1 more hr of ice for the mite tryouts.
General items – Boys/Girls dressing in the same locker room is an issue. The motion by Kevin was to have the boys show up in shorts and girls show up with shorts and t-shirt(appropriate). These items do not come off before or after game in the locker room. Will try to have another locker room attendant available to monitor. Motion 2nd by Dan. Kim voted no. Dan discussed team checks to be changed and list is as follows: U10-$300, U12-$450, U15-$600, Bantam B1,B2,C-$600, Bantam AA-$850, Squirts-$300, Pee Wee A,B,C-$450, Pee Wee AA-$650, Motion by Kevin and 2nd by Kim and all pass. 2016-17 will need addition fees added for tournaments. Kimberley Peterson mentioned issues with the homecoming parade and talked about next yr no floats and only walking. No cones left at either St Croix or WBC. Kevin will buy 12 small cones for WBC. Addition comments from parents: Shellie Heinsch concerns about the Pee Wee lack of Communication and tryouts. Meaghan Schmidt/Travis Hindahl comments about how and where players were placed throughout the last day of evals. Paul buchmyer commented about having a post tryout process and or open to parents to watch. Levels were not the same eval process and coaches were never before allowed. We should post all tryout/evals so parents know process. Institute a yr end coach survey on how well kids were placed and use it for the following yr training.
