Main Street Rehabilitation Project CONSTRUCTION UPDATE #2 - MARCH 17, 2015
Hi everyone!!! Twice-a-week the City of Placerville is distributing updates to the community regarding the Main Street Rehabilitation project. These updates are being issued via email to interested parties, and are being posted on the City of Placerville and Placerville Downtown Association websites. Updates
The major effort at the beginning of construction to confirm the locations of existing underground utilities using ground penetrating radar has really streamlined work over the last several nights.
The contractor has been laying approximately 200 feet of new water line each night.
Approximately 300 feet of new water line on Main Street at the east end of the project remains to be installed and is expected to be completed by Wednesday evening.
Once the new Main Street water line is placed the contractor will need a few nights to install the new water line in Center Street.
As early as Sunday night (March 22) the contractor will begin replacing water service lines. It is expected that each night between three (3) and five (5) service lines will be replaced.
The City will coordinate with each property owner, and their tenants, in advance regarding the timing of their service replacement, to minimize impact on each business.
