Main Street Rehabilitation Project PHASE 2 ‐ CONSTRUCTION UPDATE #9 May 15, 2016 Hi Everyone!!  This is a periodic update to the community regarding the final construction phase (Phase 2) of the Main Street Rehabilitation project. These updates will be issued via email to interested parties, and it is anticipated that these will be posted on the City of Placerville and Placerville Downtown Association websites. Each update will involve a series of steps and individuals, but as a team we are committed to getting each update distributed as quickly as possible! We are in the home stretch! Thanks for your patience over this last year of construction! Work Updates  Final paving on Main Street and a portion of Sacramento Street is scheduled to be completed

by the end of this week (May 20th). Grinding of the existing pavement on Main Street will begin Sunday night at 9:00 pm to allow the contractor sufficient time in a shift to accomplish the necessary efforts and still have Main Street open up on time Monday morning. Any vehicles parked on Main Street beyond 9 pm WILL BE TOWED. Signage will be posted after the car show and the project team will check in with businesses and residents regarding the parking restrictions. Patrons, business owners, and residents of Main Street are encouraged to park in the parking garage during this timeframe. It’s going to be a fun and busy week!

 Reservoir Alley work will start Monday morning. -

Reminder: similar to Stagecoach Alley this work is scheduled to be completed during the day. Installing the replacement water line will require excavating through hard rock and the exact duration is subject to change, but not expected to last more than 5 days (May 16th through 20th).

-

The area of the waterline replacement is on the far eastern end of the alley. The construction activity is not anticipated to directly impact parking in the alley. However, traffic will not be able to continue in the typical 1‐way eastbound direction and exit onto Main Street during the day. Traffic control and U‐turn areas will be made available. Reservoir will reopen at the end of each day’s shift.
