MAYRA MEETING MINUTES July 21, 2014 Present: Patti Miller, Lindsay Ashworth, Adam Nordenstrom, Kevin Braidey, Linda Rogers, Terry Llewellyn, Heather Stromberg Also present: Jinx Greski, Jane Fore, Mark Kritzeck Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. Motion to approve June 2014 minutes Adam Nordenstrom and Kevin Braidey second Old Business: Outstanding invoice due to Cambridge Isanti for $14,000 needs more clarification. Brett, Joe, and Patti will continue working on this to find resolution. Sponsorship invoices will be mailed out and then followed up by a call if not paid to Sherman, Coborns, Barnick. Brett has finished the key audit. All keys are in his office and new locks have been put on. Check list of items to be done at MCC will be done by by September 1st. Julie Cokley sent in her resignation as of today July 21st, 2014. He board agreed to appoint an interested candidate at the September meeting. Candidates will be found by board members. Julie is also the MAYRA Treasurer and that position needs to be filled. Until then, Patti Miller will serve as Treasurer. New Business: Fundraising Golf tournament - August 23rd $50a person, 4 person teams, BBQ by Kyle Stanchfield. Committee members for this event are Patti, Christy, Adam, Dusty, Trisha, and Jon Samuelson. Kanabec County Fair Parade is Saturday, July 26th ~ Lindsay has a spot for MAYRA #19! Friday and Saturday - July 25th and July 26th Terry will be at the Fairgrounds with the “Big Striker” game. Home based business sale – Heather will thinking of ideas and ways to promote. Girls 14U Meeting is scheduled in Isanti on Monday, July 28th at 6 p.m. to talk about possible options for our 14U skaters. 2 14U Proposed fees for 2014-2015 were discussed. Adam motioned to approve; Heather Stromberg seconds. Tournaments - Christy Thomas will continue as Home Tournament Coordinator and has put an Ad in the Let’s Play Hockey Newspaper. Girls 10U will have try outs in Isanti. Mite Try Outs will be at the end of October in Mora. Try outs for Squirts and PeeWee skaters will be held in Mora. A $35 fee will be charged to Squirts, PW, 10U, 12U and 14U team’s numbers warrant a try out at that level. Heather Stromberg motions to approve and Linda Rogers seconds. The following Policies were motioned and approved: Move-up Policy, Participation Policy, Waive out Policy, Refund Policy. Heather Stromberg motions and Linda seconds. Amber will call and book pre skates at Princeton on Saturday, September 27th MAYRA newsletter and welcome back letters will be sent out this week. Returning hockey registration begins online on August 1. Returning player registration needs to be completed by Wednesday, August 20th. Open House from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the MCC. Raffle Calendars will also be handed out that evening. The style and price will stay the same again this year. SoftballLinda will take over with the resignation of Julie. Equipment has been returned. Registration will take place in September. SoccerSoccer camp is scheduled for the same times as last year the week of October 6-11, 2014 Warming HouseMotion was made by Heather Stromberg to cancel the landline phone at the outdoor warming house. Looking for community members to be involved in the warming house this winter.
