Dear Parents and Carers After School Late payment A late collection payment will be charged to parents who collect their children after 6 p.m. and haven’t phoned prior to 5.45 p.m. to let Lesley and Aimee know that they are going to be late. The amount will be £10 and will be added onto your next bill. Children in Need Thanks to everyone who donated to the Children in Need appeal this year, we raised £91 with our non-uniform day and £205 was raised by our brave men who had their legs waxed. Thanks to all who participated in the event, it was our best ever! A big thank you must go to Laura Nicholson (Annabelle’s Mum) who suggested the leg wax and also to Mr D, Mr T and Tim Hague for volunteering. Mr Donnelly Mr Donnelly is now the Assistant Head Teacher of the school. If I am unavailable, please see Mr Donnelly. Eco Award Congratulations to Mr T and his Green Team who have worked hard to achieve the Bronze Eco Award for the school. I know that we are well on our way to achieving the Silver Award too – well done! Christmas This year we are trialling a couple of new things – we are going to split the children for the Christmas performance into the Upper and Lower School, Owls and Year 2 will work together on one performance and Hedgehogs, Badgers and Year 1 will work on another performance. This really makes no difference to you – both performances happen on the same day (18th December), the Upper School one will follow the Lower school play; and the raffle draw will follow both. We are also going to change the organisation of the party on 19th December. In previous years the children have had their lunch and then about an hour later they have had their party tea which consisted of very generous donations of food by parents. We are, this year, going to work with Sam and some of the children to plan a buffet lunch for the children which will be their party meal, we will not be asking for any donations of food for the party; the children who usually bring in a packed lunch are invited to have a school lunch that day so that they will feel a part of the festivities. The cost of the meal will be £2.00, please complete the slip below and return it to school along with the cash to ensure that we order enough food for everyone!

The post-box will be out for the children to post their Christmas cards from Monday 9th December, please make sure that the children write the surnames of the recipient of their card as there are sometimes more than one child with the same name in school and it gets very complicated for our post-sorters to fathom out who the cards are for, thanks. Parent helpers If you are able to help in school at any time, please see your child’s class teacher. I also need more people to help on the swimming rota. St Nicholas Fayre The annual St Nicholas Fayre is taking place in the Village Hall tomorrow from 2-4 p.m. There is a competition for the best Christmas tree decoration with prizes for the winners. All proceeds from the entrance fee and the café money is being donated to our school! Please go along if you have any time to spare. School Christmas Fair Our school fair is taking place on the afternoon of Friday 13th December. If you would like a table at the fair, please see Angela. The charge for a table is £10. More details of the Fair will be sent out nearer the time. Christmas Tree Festival Next Thursday the children will be decorating three trees for the Christmas Tree Festival in the Church. If anyone is able to lend us three trees in pots for the weekend, we would be very grateful! We need three Christmas trees - 4’, 3’ and 2’. Some of the children from Mr Donnelly’s class will be singing in the Church at 2 p.m. Kind Regards Helen Stokoe Head Teacher Christmas lunch – Tuesday 10th December 2013 - £2.00
