Hoity Toity Angel – Wednesday 19th December, St Mary’s Church, Stannington You should all have received a letter telling you what your child’s part is in the play. Please send in their costume as soon as possible. The play starts promptly at 1.30 pm, so please arrive early so that you don’t miss anything! There will be programmes for sale on the afternoon – the proceeds from this will be used to pay for the Licence that we have to purchase in order to perform the play. Whilst we welcome younger siblings into the church, please be conscious that any noise, however small, may distract our performers. The room at the back of the church will be available if any little ones would like to let off steam!! Christmas Party – Thursday 20th December The party is for the children only and will be taking place over the course of Thursday 20th December. Nearer the time we will let you know if we need your child to provide anything. Halal Meat We have been given the option to order Halal meat, but before we go ahead and order, please let me know if you have any objections to your child eating this meat. Broadband in Stannington Superfast Broadband is about to be rolled out throughout Northumberland, the Parish of Stannington has registered with the County Council to show their interest. A community or parish must demonstrate a minimum of 50% interest, if it cannot register a 50% interest, then it is unlikely that superfast broadband will come to that area. At the moment, Stannington Parish only has 40% showing interest. In order to register your interest please complete the following survey from Northumberland County Council : www.surveymonkey.com/broadband4northumberland Severe Weather I have received the following advice from County regarding school closures. I will make every effort to keep the school open, but I have to ensure that I have enough staff in school to provide care for the children. In the event of any closure, the teachers will provide work for the children to complete at home and return to school on their first day back.

During periods of severe weather there may be School closures or disruption to your child’s Home to School Transport. In these circumstances do you know what to do? Here are some tips 

Listen to Local Radio Stations. Mainly BBC Radio Newcastle 95.4fm; other useful Stations are Real Radio 100 to 102fm and Radio Borders 102.3 fm
