Special Educational Needs & Disability Roadshows Over the holidays some parents may have received a letter from NCC regarding a Special Needs Roadshow. If you have received one and have any concerns, please contact me.
Diwali Day This week the children and staff enjoyed a whole school day celebrating the Hindu celebration of Diwali. Jane cooked an amazing curry and the children participated in making lamps, rangoli, henna patterns and cards.
Phonics Evening Thank you to all the parents who came to the phonics evening. It was lovely to see so many of you. It is vitally important that phonics is taught correctly and this is helped with your continuing involvement.

E-Safety evening—29th November, 6pm Mr T will be running a workshop to show you how to keep your child safe on the internet and to show which apps and games are particularly useful for your child. He will also be available to help with any queries regarding IT.
Harvest festival donations If anyone would like to donate any items to The People’s Kitchen or the Morpeth Food Bank, next Friday (11th Nov) will be the deadling for donations.
PE This half term the Year 1&2 children will be participating in football and the Year 3&4 children will be doing gymnastics.

Stannington First School Page 2 New parking enforcement vehicle A parking enforcement vehicle is now operational in this area. The initiative is aimed at helping parents understand the benefits of parking responsibly in order to help keep children safe. The parking enforcement vehicle, which will be monitoring school keep clear restrictions, is easily recognisable. As well as displaying the Council's logo and camera enforcement logos the vehicle has the ‘Be a Smarter Parker’ branding which is part of the above mentioned Schools Go Smarter initiative.
