Stannington First School Thursday Times Diary dates : July 6 & 7—Transfer Days
Dear Parents and Carers We are delighted to let you know that we have been awarded “The Good Diabetes Care in School Award”. This award recognises the work done by everyone in school to ensure that all our children can enjoy their school experience safely.
July 16, 10am Church Service
Woodland visit—Reception and Year 2 children July 19, 3.30-6pm — Parents book look July 19—Leavers assembly in Church, 1pm July 20—Leavers Disco (Yr 3&4 children) July 21, 2pm—Leavers Assembly (Year 4)
You may remember that the Reception and Year 2 children were due to go on a woodland trip back in February. We have been unable to find a convenient date before the end of term so it has been decided that that the visit will be rescheduled in September. If you have already paid for this visit there will be no further charge.
RNLI visit The RNLI visited the children last week to talk about water safety and how to stay safe at the beach. Neil also told the children about the work of the RNLI and two of his ‘helpers’ came with him. You may have seen the helpers somewhere before!
Summer Fayre—cake donations We are missing some named plates and cake tins. If you purchased a whole cake at the fayre and it came on a plate or in a cake-tin—please would you check to see if there is a name sticker on the bottom and return them to school.
Outstanding balances As we approach the end of the school year, please ensure all outstanding bills such as school lunches/after-school care/music are cleared for the end of term. Please speak with Mrs Harker if you have any problems.
Please remember to regularly check your emails and your child’s book-bag for any correspondence from school.
Page 2 Community News St Mary’s Church There will be a special service at St Marys Church to mark the end of the school year and to say goodbye to Mrs Stokoe on Sunday 16th July at 10:00am. It will be short, child friendly, and we hope that as many of the families from school as possible will be able to be there to celebrate the end of the school year and express our appreciation to Helen for all she has done for the school and village. Treetots Toddler Group Fridays 1.30pm—Early Years building
Stannington Kids/Youth Club Meets every Saturday in the Community Room at Stannington First School. Cost is £2 per club Activities include crafts, games, stories along with a tuck shop !
