Praise the Lord for a great week of Vacation Bible School, MPACT, and discipleship training! Actually, this weekend was just the harvest—all the hard work had been going on for months. While Mpact has been planned since early in the year, God has been working in the lives of Jadis Elizalde and Rudy Flores since at least the youth retreat at New Year’s Eve. So last Sunday, they both let it be known publicly that they have placed their faith in Jesus Christ and await baptism! Pray for them. Dwayne Lindsey started his discipleship training class in March. Not long after, Ryan Ramchan began attending with us and on Saturday Ryan publicly professed his faith in Christ through baptism. We did that one a little different—it was held at the Beirne house, in the pool; Ryan invited most of his USMC squad to attend; and Ryan shared his salvation testimony before his baptism. The idea was to get some unchurched friends to come to a less intimidating setting than a church,
and it worked. As an extra blessing, Nydalynn Lindsey was also baptized. She started her journey in November of 2006—she has been at Travis since she was born! What a blessing that she has matured into a wonderful young believer. We started panning Vacation Bible School in February---although we picked the curriculum right after last years’ Bible School. Last week was the culmination of lots of man hours decorating and praying and preparing. It all came together like a beautiful symphony. While attendance was a bit below expectations, the results far exceeding our expectations: 10 salvations! And we’ve already baptized one of them (Jimmy Lobao)! Thank you to all who pray, give, serve, and sacrifice in obedience to 1 Corinthians 14:7—“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all” (1Co 12:7 NKJ). So praise the Lord for all He has done and pray He will continue doing it here.
From Chaos to Character Daniel 1:3-8 When the Chaos of the World tries to Wear Down Our Faith: Educate us so Legends replace Scripture. 1:4 Breed our dependence with an Extravagant Lifestyle. 1:5 Erase our Identity. 1:6-7 **BUT DANIEL PURPOSED IN HIS HEART** 1:8 How Can Chaos Produce Character? Speak often of your Homeland. Pass on your knowledge of the Word of God. Constantly remind yourself of your Dependency on Him. Choose God’s Faithfulness over feelings of Despair.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

We have a former student returning to Corpus Christi to be our Campus Missionary Intern in the Fall for the Baptist Student Ministry. Her name is Abbey Adkison and I am excited about having her work with us. In addition to a stipend, the BSM provides housing for all CMI's. We are still looking for a family that may have a spare bedroom or apartment that could accommodate Abbey and her cat. Abbey will be serving late July through mid May. BSM is willing to help with some bills if needed. Please contact Eric Bean at the Corpus Christi Baptist Student Ministry if you are interested (361.882.4989).
