West Oahu AYSO Region 769 Board Meeting Minutes February 8, 2017 Meeting called to order at 7:33pm by James Fernandez. Members Present: P. Acierto , K. Cannella, D. Cardona, M. Cardona, R. Daite, K. Dung, J. Fernandez, W. Ferry , J. Gamaio, L. McElhannon, E. Paredes, P. Poepoe, J. Poepoe, D. Turqueza , C. Ucol, C. Halemano, Minutes from October 2016 were presented. Motion to approve: E. Paredes, second: D. Turqueza. Motion passes unanimously. Treasurers’ report was handed out to the Board. C. Ucol informed the Board that a C.D. will mature soon and she will begin looking for a new bank with a higher percentage. Had 3 NSF’s . C. Ucol asks that AGC’s follow up with Coaches regarding these players and requesting them to provide payment or not be allowed to play. As of December 2016, Region 769 has $31,000 in the bank. Motion to approve: D. Turqueza, second: E. Paredes. Motion passes unanimously. Registrar: Pam Poepoe is the new AYSO Region 769 Registrar effective 2/8/17. Blue Sombrero will be unveiled and a course will be offered at Expo in April to bring Pam and others up to speed on the new program for registration. M. Cardona was recognized for her dedicated years of volunteer service to the children and youth of AYSO Region 769. CVPA: Jes Gamaio 195 Registered volunteers Even if youth referee they have to do Safe Haven, 10 years and up AGC’s: U5 last weekend – 20 girls and 15 boys. A new volunteer has come out to support the U5 program: Jimmy, a neighbor of W. Ferry. Considering doing a 5 week U6/U8 season for $10 a player U8 Boys: 11 teams/with coaches U8 Girls: 9 teams/with coaches U10 Boys: 4 teams/with coaches U10 Girls: 1 Gold, 2 silver, 3 bronze teams will be playing with other regions U10Boys have new AGC in training: Jason Poepoe, he will take official role in Fall 2017 Motion: Accept Jason Poepoe as new U10 Boys AGC. U12Boys: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze/17 players U12 Girls: 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze U14 Boys: 1 team and 3 extra players U14 Girls: 3 players U16/19 13 Boys
Referee Admin: No Report Coach Admin: E. Paredes shared a document titled “Outside the Touchlines 101” which discusses coach and spectator sideline behavior. E. Paredes reported that there was a Core Coaches refresher course offered at Waiau Park and about 30 Coaches attended. VIP Program: Kris Dung 3:00 VIP on Saturdays. $20 per player
New Business: EXPO: Investment in our Board Members. Courses they can take to benefit their positions on the Board D. Turqueza wll send email out to figure out who will attend and what courses they will be taking April 21-23 Waikiki Marriott Board Shirts: W. Ferry is awaiting the logo from D. Turqueza to begin working on the shirts. Would like them in time for the Expo. Volunteer Appreciation: L. McElhannon will look into placing an order to create a volunteer appreciation gift bag for Coaches, Referees, and Team Parents. There already is budgeted monies for this so no vote was necessary. Keoneula Fit Festival: K. Cannella informed the Board about a Fit Festival at Keoneula Elementary in Ewa Beach on the evening of April 21`. She will gather more information and then seek volunteers from the Board to host a booth at the event. Kirk Banks Tournament: SoccerFest for KBT registered U10 players on Friday, April 24. Pins are being ordered so that participating teams can purchase them to giveaway at games. 12 Region 769 teams are participating in this years KBT 60 teams registered to participate , usually 100 teams.
