OPENING BELL Gettysburg makes its home season debut tonight against long-time conference rival McDaniel.

THE SERIES Gettysburg retains the upper-hand in a rivalry that dates back to WWII (1941). The Bullets lead the series 29-19, but McDaniel has dominated action over the last 13 seasons, winning 12 of 14 meetings. The last time the teams met in Bream, the Orange and Blue won the first five matches (no 125 match), including three by pin, to walk away with a 24-12 decision. LAST MEETING Gettysburg and McDaniel grappled twice last season with the Green Terror earning 25-22 and 40-17 victories. Abe Evans and Andrew Goldstein ’09 won both of their bouts in those duals, with Evans scoring a pin and a technical fall at 125. Michael Slabinski (141, pin (2:18)), Patrick Doherty (157, major dec. (11-2)), and Luke Mitchell (184, 11-8) also tallied wins in the first meeting. LAST TIME OUT The Bullets dropped a trio of matches at the Wilkes quad over the weekend. Gettysburg lost to a pair of nationally-ranked squads from Wilkes (No. 15 in DIII) and Kutztown (No. 16 in DII) by scores of 29-21 and 35-16, respectively, before closing with a 34-10 setback to Plymouth State. Bobby Christopher put up three wins at heavyweight, including his team-best 10th pin against Wilkes. Luke Mitchell and Marshall Puls each won twice at 184 and 197, respectively.

ANCHORED LINEUP Gettysburg’s strength has been at the bottom of its lineup this season. Each of the team’s top grapplers from 174 to 285 have accumulated at least a dozen wins this season, including a combined 32-13 record at heavyweight.

CONFERENCE WINS Gettysburg is looking for its third Centennial decision of the year. The Bullets have not won that many conference duals since going 5-1 in 2000. BACK ON TRACK After starting the year 0-10, sophomore Abe Evans has righted the ship and has won six of nine bouts at 125. Evans has won each of his last three competitions against conference foes. SCOUTING MCDANIEL...  McDaniel has won its last two conference matches to climb into a tie for second in the standings. The Green Terror were upended at Centenary last time out, falling 34-7. Heavyweight Brock Glotfelty notched a major decision (11-0) and Tommy Goretsas picked up a 10-5 decision at 133 to lead McDaniel.  Coming off his first conference title and All-America honors, junior Brock Glotfelty has been near unstoppable this winter. He won his first 18 matches of the year with his first two losses coming to Division I opponents. Glotfelty has taken home individual titles at four tournaments this winter.
