Whole School Mass

We break up for half term on today, 3.15pm and return to school on Mon 23rd Feb.

There will be a whole school Mass, following Ash Wednesday, on Tue 24th Feb, 9.15am. Parents are welcome to attend this Mass too.

Family Mass & Y6 Commitment Mass On Sun 8th March, 9.30am there is going to be a Family Mass and the Y6 Confirmation Commitment Mass. All Y6 children wishing to take the Sacrament of Confirmation this year, must attend this Mass. Goodbye Sadly, Mr Brightside will be leaving All Souls at the end of the Spring Term. We wish him all the best in the future and will miss him greatly. We are currently in the process of recruiting a new Reception teacher & will inform parents when the decision has been made. Parent Consultation Evening All parents should have now selected an appointment slot to see their child’s class teacher. Teachers will send appointment times to parents during the first week of half term. Parent Consultation Evening will be taking place on Mon 2nd & Tue 3rd March. Piano Assembly Children who take piano lessons with Miss Faulkner will be performing in an assembly to parents on Mon 23rd Feb, 8.45am.

Half Term Camp Thank you to parents who have signed their children up for our Half Term Camp. Please complete the registration forms sent home this week, by the end of today (Friday 13th Feb). Half Term Camp will run from 9.30am – 3.30pm Mon 16th Feb – Fri 20th Feb. Six Nations Celebration & BHF Thank you to all children who came to school in red non-uniform today and donated to the British Heart Foundation. We spent the morning playing Tag rugby, hockey, boules & bench ball and took part in a Six Nations Internet Treasure Hunt! This afternoon we are holding our very own talent show where the children will showcase their singing, dancing, joke telling & instrument playing skills. What a fabulous way to end our half term. Sports Fixtures Results – Our netballers played 2 games this, winning both (14-3 & 63) and we are now the Coventry West League Champions. Well done to Aliscia Y5 & Ben Y6 for being Players of the Match. Our Y3 & 4 footballers sadly lost in the semi-finals but played brilliantly. Tue 24th Feb – Our teams who played in the 4 a side football competitions recently, will play in the finals at 3pm. Wed 25th Feb – A swimming team from Y4, 5 & 6 have been invited to take part in a competition at Coventry Baths, 9am – 12pm. Thurs 26th Feb – Our netball team will take part in the next round of the High 5 competition at Tile Hill Wood, 4pm. Sun 1st March – Children and staff who have been training for the Coventry ½ Marathon will be running their final mile in the city centre, times to be confirmed. Wed 4th March – 8 Y6 children will be chosen to compete in an indoor rowing tournament at the Woodlands, 1pm – 3pm. Please try and support our teams at games and events this term.

The course begins on Thurs 26th Feb, 6.30pm – 9pm at the Coventry Carer’s Centre. Bonus Ball Anthony West is the winner of this week’s Bonus Ball.

Exam league tables reveal our partner secondary school, Bishop Ullathorne Catholic School, to be a top performing school in Coventry. As reported nationally and in the Coventry Telegraph, at A level our secondary school came second after Bablake for pupils achieving three A levels. The private King Henry VIII school came third! For GCSE, our secondary school was also second in the city beating Finham Park. It is wonderful to know that our children here will achieve in the very supportive Catholic community at Bishop Ullathorne School. Congratulations to students and staff.
