Organize First The first thing you need to have in order to master writing is organization. The more you organize your mind map and research, the easier this part will be. You should organize the tools to help you with this. Even things like second monitors for your pc/laptop will really come in handy as you don’t need to constantly keep switching between windows and pages. You don’t need a massive one, just big enough to do the job. Before spending money on software or hardware, a good question to ask yourself is, “is this good enough and will it increase my productivity and efficiency?” A fantastic piece of software to use is scrivener. It’s fairly cheap and has a ton of great features. You can convert your mindmap into scrivener and copy over your notes as well. The app also lets you set micro goals which can be crucial to success. You can set up little goals like, 3 sections that need to be written out in a day or writing out 700 words before moving onto a different task. The app regulates what you can access and this can greatly improve your concentration and productivity by cutting down the work into bitesize chunks. There are other apps besides scrivener, but currently it’s one of the best apps made for this type of work.
