Beginning Quilting 101 with Betty Pompey

First-time quilter? Self-taught? Need a refresher? All the basics for quilting will be covered in this beginning class. Based on Alex Anderson’s book Start Quilting, students learn to cut, piece, machine quilt and bind a 30” X30” quilt or wall hanging in the Split Rail Design.
Classes held on Mondays from September 12th-October 17th. Richmond 6pm-8:30pm Class fee is $35 plus supplies

Gwen Marston published her iconic Liberated Quiltmaking and then the world opened up to the ideas of process quilting. This is unlike traditional quilting where one simply follows patterns and templates, liberated quilting is more about the free piecing of non-traditional elements without sacrificing our quilting roots of the patterns we have loved in the past.
