Sophomore Allison Gordon posted her third career double-double at MSOE and junior Marissa Hoyer recorded nine points and 12 boards at Rockford in a pair of defeats last week. Despite an outstanding defensive second quarter, the Eagles couldn’t muster enough offense to defeat MSOE. The Raiders regrouped to shoot 42.9 percent in the second half to defeat the Eagles, 51-31, at the Kern Center on Wednesday.

Once An Eagle, Always An Eagle
The Eagles held the Raiders to just three points in the second quarter en route to an 18-14 halftime deficit. The Raiders kicked their offense into high gear, scoring the first 11 points in the third quarter to put away the Eagles. Allison Gordon finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds. After one of their best shooting performances of the year, the Eagles couldn’t overcome a turnover-prone second half in a 72-54 defeat at Rockford University on Saturday afternoon. Senior Sidney Peach scored eight of her team-high 12 points in a strong first half where the Eagles (0-21, 0-16 NACC) outshot Rockford and held the hosts to 32 percent shooting and forced 10 turnovers. The second half was a different story as the Regents outscored the Eagles, 46-23, and won the turnover battle, 12-3. Hoyer nearly had her first career double-double and helped lead an Eagle offense that posted their second-highest shooting percentage (38.9) of the season.
About the Sabres Marian is 3-18, 2-14 in the NACC and is currently on an eight-game losing streak. Their last victory came at home against the Eagles, 55-48, on January 11. Only three of their 18 defeats have been by single digits. Led by Nicole Paulus (18.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg), the Sabre offense ranks 10th with 51.3 ppg in league play. They also rank fifth in field goal attempts (59.4) and turnovers (15.9) in NACC play.
