NO REST FOR THE WEARY • Both Northeastern and BU will be playing their third game in five days. • The Terriers traveled over 860 miles in that time, going to Penn State and coming away with a 7-2 win and 3-3 tie. • Northeastern hosted Syracuse this past Friday and Saturday, earning a tie and a win. HISTORY WITH THE HUSKIES • Tuesday’s tilt will be the 49th all-time meeting between the two schools. • The Terriers own a 30-13-5 record against Northeastern, including an 11-6-2 mark at Matthews Arena. • BU went 2-3 last year against NU, but one of those wins came in the WHEA semifinals. including a shorthanded goal, to lead BU to a 4-3 win over Northeastern in a Hockey East semifinal hosted by Merrimack. • Victoria Bach added a goal and an assist while Rebecca Leslie also lit the lamp. • Crossley’s goal was huge, as it came shorthanded during the third period to put BU ahead, 4-2, and eventually serve as the game-winner. • It was the fourth straight year that the Terriers eliminated the Huskies from the league tournament.’ BEST OF BU AGAINST NORTHEASTERN • Victoria Bach (3g, 4a) and Rebecca Leslie (2g, 5a) both have seven points apiece against Northeastern in two seasons. • Samantha Sutherland (5a), Maddie Elia (2g, 3a) and Alexis Crossley (2g, 3a) all have five points against the Huskies in their time as Terriers. • Sarah Steele has assisted on four goals against NU. She owns a 1.58 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage. • On offense, junior Denisa Krizova leads the Huskies with eight points (4g, 4a). • Freshman defenseman Codie Cross also has four assists while junior McKenna Brand has also scored four goals. HAPPY IN HOCKEY VALLEY • BU went to Penn State for the first time in program history and skated away with a 3-3 tie on Friday and a 7-2 victory on Saturday. • Senior Maddie Elia tallied the gametying goal 8:30 into the third period on Friday as part of a two-point night. • Senior co-captain Alexis Crossley also had a goal and an assist on Friday while junior Rebecca Leslie recorded two helpers. • Junior Erin O’Neil made 32 saves between the pipes. • On Saturday, graduate student Mary Parker notched a hat trick and two assists for five points. • Sophomore Connor Galway got her first collegiate goal to complete a two-point weekend while Elia tallied a goal and two helpers. • Crossley added two more assists and
sophomore Mary Grace Kelley collected her first goal of the season. • Senior Victoria Hanson stopped 21 of the 23 shots she faced. PARKER NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK • Graduate student Mary Parker shared Hockey East Player of the Week honors, the league announced on Monday. • Parker finished the weekend with six points, highlighted by a three-goal, two-assist performance at Penn State on Saturday afternoon. • She is the second Terrier to win that award this season, as Samantha Sutherland was recognized after her hat trick against Providence in September. BEST IN THE NATION THIS WEEKEND • No other player - male or female - had more goals or points than Mary Parker this past weekend. • Parker tallied four goals and added two assists for six points. • She is currently tied for eighth in the nation with eight points (5g, 3a). FIVE-POINT TURN • Parker was one point shy of the singlegame program record held by Jenn Wakefield (‘12); she recorded six points against Vermont on Jan. 21, 2012. • Six other Terriers in addition to Parker have recorded five-point games, the

ONE AWAY FROM THE CENTURY MARK • Parker’s outstanding Saturday also put her just a point shy of 100 for her career. • She has tallied 48 goals and 51 assists for 99 career points in 109 games. • Junior Victoria Bach is next closest at 88 points (43g, 45a). HATS OFF TO THE TERRIERS • At least two different Terriers have recorded a hat trick in each of the last six seasons. • This is also the 11th straight season that a Terrier has scored at least three goals in a game - only the inaugural season (2005-06) was without a Terrier hat trick. WHAT Y’ALL KNOW ABOUT SEVEN? • The Terriers tallied seven goals in a game on Saturday, their first seven-goal game since a 7-1 win over Yale on Nov. 3, 2015. • They have recorded seven goals in at least one game in each of the program’s last seven seasons. ELECTRIC ELIA • Senior Maddie Elia also had a terrific weekend, recording five points at Penn State. • She was tied for the NCAA lead with three assists over the weekend in addition to her pair of goals. • For the season, Elia has seven points on four goals and three assists. CROSSLEY GREAT AT BOTH ENDS • Senior co-captain Alexis Crossley was the Terriers’ best blue liner over the weekend at Penn State. • Offensively, she secured her first four points of the season with a goal and three assists. • She finished the weekend as a plus-2 and two blocked shots in addition to several nice defensive plays that did not get reflected on the score sheet. SCORING AT WILL • The Terriers own the nation’s most proficient offense, averaging 4.40 goals per game. • No other team in the country is
averaging over four goals per game. • BU is tied with Minnesota Duluth for tops in the nation with 22 total goals and hold the outright lead in assists (39) and points (61). • The Terriers are also fifth in shooting percentage (.120), impressive considering they are also third in the NCAA with an average of 36.60 shots on goal per game. HAPPY BIRTHDAY COACH DUROCHER! • Tuesday is 12th-year head coach Brian Durocher’s birthday. • BU most recently played on Durocher’s big day in 2014, earning a 5-2 win at Clarkson. • The Terriers are unbeaten on Oct. 18, boasting a 3-0-1 record. • They defeated Robert Morris, 5-2, in 2013, in addition to a 2-1 win over Clarkson (2008) and a 3-3 tie with Boston College (2005). GALWAY GETS FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL • Sophomore Connor Galway added a special puck to her collection after notching her first collegiate goal on Saturday at Penn State.

• Her rocket of a shot from the right point extended the Terriers’ lead to 5-2. • She also had an assist on Friday to bring a two-game point streak into Tuesday’s tilt. A LITTLE SWITCH MAKES A DIFFERENCE • Head coach Brian Durocher moved around his left wings prior to Saturday’s game and it paid dividends. • He paired sophomore Sammy Davis with junior Rebecca Leslie and senior Maddie Elia, which moved junior Nina Rodgers to a line with junior Victoria Bach and grad student Mary Parker. • Freshman Deziray De Sousa took over the left wing next to senior Samantha Sutherland and freshman Natasza Tarnowski. • Rodgers-Bach-Parker combined for eight points (3g, 5a) while the trio of Davis-Elia-Leslie finished with two goals and three assists. ONE TEAM HAS LOTS OF THAT POWER • BU is tied for fourth in the nation on the power play at 23.3 percent (7-of30). • The Terriers went 4-for-7 with a player advantage last weekend at Penn State, including a 60 percent success rate (3of-5) on Saturday. PENALTY KILL GOOD TOO • The Terriers have been terrific in all
facets of special teams this season. • In addition to their prolific power play, BU is tied for fifth in penalty kill percentage (.926). • The Terriers have allowed just two power-play goals all season (25-of-27). SUTHERLAND STILL LEADING THE NCAA • Senior Samantha Sutherland is still atop the NCAA goal scoring leaderboard with seven markers. • She also leads in goals per game (1.40) and shooting percentage (.500). • Sutherland added an assist to her point total - her eight points ranks eighth in the nation. • Sutherland has tallied five third-period goals, most in the nation, and she has more two-goal games (3) than any other skater in the NCAA. • Five of her goals have come at even strength, second-most in the NCAA. DAVIS ALSO AMONG NATION’S BEST • Sophomore Sammy Davis scored her first goal of the season Saturday and now has nine points (1g, 8a). • Those nine points have Davis tied for fifth in the nation. • She also ranks second in the NCAA in both total assists (8) and assists per game (1.60). • Davis’ five third-period helpers lead the nation, and her six even-strength assists are tied for the NCAA lead.

COOK, CALDERONE HELPING OUT • Freshmen defensemen Alexandra Calderone and Abby Cook both lead all Terrier rookies with two points. • Calderone picked up her second assist of the year on Saturday at Penn State while Cook collected her second assist on Oct. 9 at Vermont. • Both players are also a plus-2 entering Tuesday night. SPREADING THE WEALTH • Five different Terriers lit the lamp on Saturday at Penn State. • It was the first time five different BU skaters scored a goal since Feb. 28, 2016, in a WHEA quarterfinal contest against Vermont. DON’T FALL BEHIND BU • BU improved to 43-1-1 since the start of the 2014-15 season when leading after two periods following the win over Penn State on Saturday. • The Terriers lost a two-period lead just twice last season, going 18-1-1 when in front after 40 minutes. • BU has helped its caused by scoring eight third-period goals, tied for third most in the nation. ELECTION SEASON • The Terriers garnered votes in both national polls this week. • BU earned eight votes in both the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey poll. TERRIERS DROP FIRST OF THE SEASON • BU suffered its first setback of the 2016-17 season on Oct. 9 at Vermont, falling to the Catamounts, 3-2. • Senior Samantha Sutherland scored both goals, with sophomore Sammy Davis assisting on both markers. • Freshman Abby Cook had a helper on Sutherland’s opening goal. • BU trailed, 1-0, before Sutherland evened the score at the 12:45 mark of the first period. • Vermont took a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, and the score remained
that way until Sutherland scored 12:36 into the third period to tie the game. • The Catamounts found a winner with 4:59 remaining in regulation, however, to secure the two points. TERRIERS MOVE TO 2-0 AGAINST UNH • BU scored twice in the second period and twice more in the third period to earn a 5-1 win over New Hampshire on Oct. 7 at Walter Brown Arena. • Senior Samantha Sutherland scored both third-period goals while freshman Natasza Tarnowski’s second-period strike - the first of her collegiate career - proved to be the game-winner. • Sophomore Sammy Davis dished out three assists and junior Savannah Newton had two assists of her own. • Senior Maddie Elia and junior Victoria Bach lit the lamp with graduate student Mary Parker, sophomore Connor Galway and freshman Alexandra Calderone getting on the score sheet with an assist apiece. • Junior Erin O’Neil made 18 saves to earn her first win of the year. TARNOWSKI’S FIRST GOAL A BIG ONE • Freshman Natasza Tarnowski tallied her first collegiate goal on Oct. 7. • It was a huge goal, as it broke a 1-1 tie in the second period and wound up as the game-winner. • She became the second straight BU freshman to have their first collegiate goal be a game-winner; Mary Grace Kelley’s first collegiate goal broke a 2-2 tie at Providence last season in an eventual 4-2 victory. RARE PENALTY SHOT ATTEMPT • Freshman Deziray De Sousa nearly scored her first collegiate goal on Oct. 7 against New Hampshire, but her penalty shot attempt was denied. • De Sousa earned the attempt by charging hard to the net and forcing a Wildcat defender to haul her down. • UNH was the last team to allow a penalty shot attempt to BU, stopping a Victoria Bach chance on Nov. 1, 2015. NEWTON MATCHES CAREER BEST • Junior Savannah Newton had a pair of helpers Friday night to match her career high. • She also had two assists in a 6-2 win over Merrimack on Jan. 30.
