MARKET REPORT STORE CATTLE SALE TUESDAY 3RD JUNE 2014 THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Making mistakes is better than faking perfection. Emerald Combined Agents offered 1600 head at this years “Feeder & Weaner Show Sale”. A good quality yarding was on show with a fair % of E.U. and P.C.A.S. cattle comprising 800 steers and 800 heifers coming to hand. The judge Mr. John Illot awarded Grand Champion Store cattle exhibit of the show to Lloyd & Vicky Stranks for their Champion pen of Brangus Weaner Steers. The Weaner Heifer ribbon was taken home by Neilson Family for their Euro X Heifers. The Feeder Steer section was won by G. & A. Magee for a pen of Brangus Steers with Rob and Candy Cross winning the Feeder Heifer section with a pen of Santa Heifers. Weaner Steers topped @ 185 cents, Weaner Heifers made to 146 cents, Feeder Steers sold to 177 cents and Feeder Heifers made up to 142 cents. Category Steers

Lloyd & Vicky Stranks, Sunnyvale, Willows today sold the Grand Champion pen of Brangus Weaner Steers Making 181 cents to weigh 281 kg per head and return $510 per head, whilst their heifers topped at 130 c/kg to weigh 250 kg and return $341 per head. Shannon Bodian sold Brangus weaners for the steers to make 171 c/kg weighing 214 kg and return $367 per head. While their heifers averaged 136 c/kg to weigh 237 kg and return $318 per head. Aaron Stranks, ‘Springvale’ Anakie sold Charbray steers to 181 c/kg to weigh 283 kg and return $514 while his heifers made to 139 c/kg weighing 2254 kg and return $354 per head. Clothier and Barns ‘Borilla Park’ Emerald sold a run of Weaners with their Droughtmaster Steers selling to 180 cents weighing 275 kg or $495. Their sisters made 135 cents weighing 226 kg to return $306. Owen & Camel Berry, ‘Rob-Mar-Lou’ Anakie, sold Brangus weaner steers to 184 c/kg to weigh 255 kg and return $469 per head. Robert & Gayle Donaldson, ‘Roblee’ Bogantungan sold Droughtmaster steers to 170 kg to weigh 335 kg and return $570 per head. Andrew & Kathy Hawkins, ‘Mowbray’ Springsure sold EU and PCAS accredited steers to 167 c/kg to weigh 337 kg and return $564 per head. They also sold Feeder Weight Heifers to 142 c/kg to weigh 302 kg and return $429 per head. Rob & Candy Cross ‘Fermanagh’ Anakie sold a line of Santa Steers and Heifers. Their weaner steers topped at 174 c/kg to weigh 314 kgs and $546 per head. Their Weaner Heifers topped the sale at 146 c/kg to weigh 295 kgs and return $432 per head. George & Irene Cross ‘Vinetree’ Anakie sold a line of Santa Steers and Heifers. Their lead pen of Weaner steers weighed 348 kgs to make 160 c/kg and return $558 per head.
