Mentoring Program Radu Patrascu Stimulation Engineer, OMV Petrom Stimulation and Sand Control
I graduated Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti as a Drilling and Production Engineer. During my student years I’ve had two internships, the first was in north of Iraq, participating at different activities such as: drilling rig assembly, measurement of critical drilling fluids parameters and monitoring the production parameters of a natural flowing well. The second internship was at Suplacu de Barcau, Romania, where I learned about in-situ combustion, how is the burning front monitored and the calculations behind the process. I graduated in 2012, with the license project topic “Well Construction Project on Tintea Field”. Since 2012 I’m working at OMV Petrom, starting as Junior Petroleum engineer and now Stimulation Engineer. I always take my job as a daily challenge, with specific problems, that need specific actions. I’m fascinated by new technologies and I believe that innovation is the key to success. Starting 2016 I was responsible for the Young Professionals activities within SPE Romanian Section, where together with my team, we organized events for students and YPs with different topics covering soft and hard skills. I see SPE as an excellent opportunity to improve social and professional skills, challenging yourself to be better each day.
