Fixtures U14 A v Ballinhassig in Ballinhassig Sun May 22nd @ 6pm
U14 Valley Rovers played two U14 A league matches in the past week, against Douglas and Sars. Having led for most of the game against Douglas, they were unfortunate to lose by 4 points in the closing minutes of the game. However they came up against a strong Sars team but battled bravely to the bitter end. John Kearns Competition Valley Rovers U11 Football team competed in the John Kearns qualifying competition on Saturday morning 7th May in St Michaels grounds in Mahon. Valleys were grouped with St. Michaels, St. Nicks and Carrigaline. This is an eleven a side tournament plus four players who took part in a skills competition on the day. In our first game we suffered a defeat to St. Michaels but the players recoverd superbly to defeat St. Nicks and Carrigaline in our next two games. Panel for the games: Kevin Wall, Shane Lynch, Matt Crowley, Sean Barry, Niall Lawton, Conor Keogh,Ronan Cremin, Mark O Leary, Charlie Lyons, Matt Devine, Kieran Rice, Jack Crowley, Brian Hoey. Our Skills Team comprising of Conor Hurley, Cormac Lyons, Brian O Mahony and Michael Connolly completed four different skills events and again performed superbly to come first overall in this competition. The combined scores from the games and skills competition ensured that Valleys finished second in the group and thus qualified for the finals in June. Well done to all the lads and thanks to their parents for all the help and support on the day Fe 11 football league, Valley rovers played Douglas at 11am in Brinny Sun 15th May. These are 11 aside games with 4 games being played on the day, Valley Rovers winning three games and Douglas victorious in one. Well done to all the players.
