Tiny Mite Football The TM squad kicked off a Bedford Home Opener weekend vs. the NH Wildcats by proving once again that when a cat approaches a Dog, they better proceed with caution. A standing-room-only crowd was treated to a breakfast of Cap’n Crunch and pancakes as the Bulldogs flexed their muscle on both sides of the ball. The offensive line led by Beau Boughter, Graham Chmielecki, Noah Humphrey, and Tristin Leck anchored an explosive offensive attack as center Teddy Bond delivered crisp shotgun snaps all morning. Logan O’Connell opened the scoring after an elusive move to reach the cone. Andre Steinbrueck added an ESPN Sports center clip by leveling multiple defenders on a rumble to paydirt that Marshawn would envy. Trenton Otero added his first career score on a long bootleg racing 40 yards to the end zone and speedster Hudson Schmitt put the icing on the cake with the final score on a sweep, leaving would-be defenders in the dust. On defense, the Bulldogs de-clawed NH with Evan Maslanka saving two TDs with beautiful corner play. Drew Redfern was ferocious at LB as Beau Dunker and Jake Boughter also helped stomp out several drives.

Mitey Mite Silver Football Mighty Might Silver faced a tough opponent in Concord on Sunday, winning 7-0. Ledger Russell ran outside for the only touchdown on the day, made possible by setup bone crushing interior running by Danny Black and Jack Riso. Danny lost a tooth on one run, spit it out on the sideline for the tooth fairy, and was right back in the next play. Stellar interior blocking from Dean Poltronieri at center and Charlie Cariello and Nick Polishan at guard were key to our runs and eventually the touchdown. Hard working offensive linemen Justin Chiras, Brady Champagne, Hunter Crowley, Zach and Kaeden Elmer, Brody Cassidy, and Dominic Carey helped open holes in the very tight Concord defense. Our defense stopped every Concord drive, highlighted by a white knuckle red zone stand in the 4th quarter, with Ronan Balistreri making a behind the line tackle on 4th down. The Jets may have Revis Island, but we have two islands at corner with Ethan Chmielecki and Brady Jackson. Those trying to avoid the islands had a tough time holding onto the ball after meeting Evan Dunker at linebacker. Anyone trying to run up the middle were met with the ever present guards Aaron Chmielecki and Tyrece Sealey. There was simply no place for Concord to run.

Jr. Pee Wee Red Football The Bedford Jr. Bulldogs Junior Pee Wee Red team squared off against a tough New Hampshire Jr. Wildcats team and the Bulldogs ground out a 13-7 victory. The first half was dominated by stingy defense from both teams but the Jr. Wildcats eventually managed to drive down to the Jr.

Bulldogs 1 foot line before Andrew McGee thwarted the scoring attempt by recovering his 1st of 3 fumbles on the day. The first half ended knotted with no score. The tone changed at the start of the second half as the Jr. Wildcats quickly scored on their first possession. The Jr. Bulldogs answered on the next play when William Kramer ran the ensuing kickoff back for a TD. Josh Tobin bootlegged his way in for the extra point to tie it up when Ethan Flanagan and Joey Piacentini sealed off the edge with great blocks. The Jr. Bulldogs defense stiffened further and it became a field possession game which Bedford was slowly winning. Late in the 4th quarter Jackson Bolduc made a nice open field block to spring Tobin for the final, go-ahead score. The game wasn't over and the Bulldogs needed some big stops by Cam Cilley, Graham Frederick, Thomas Rice, Ben Stuart and McGee to close out the victory.

Jr. Pee Wee Silver Football Perfect weather was the catalyst for the Junior Peewee Silver team against Hooksett at home. The Silver defense led by brilliant line play of Kasey Mahoney, Maximus Mercure, Noah Sussman and Jack Cloutier stopped the Hurricanes on the first series, which allowed the high power offense to get in gear. The hometown crowd was delighted when Aiden “ALL DAY” O’Connell broke free for the first touchdown of the day. ALL DAY also connected for a TD pass with Ryan “CAT” Cote. The offensive line controlled of the line of scrimmage and was led by Alex “THE GREAT” Wafer, and Cal McAuliffe. Evan Cibotti connected with Cam Healey for an exciting completion. Seamus Balistreri had a virtually flawless performance at center. TJ “PROFESSOR” O’Connell had a big day with an interception, extra point and a touchdown! The tremendous play from the defense kept the Hurricanes scoreless. Joe Mikol and Ryan “CAT” Cote were unstoppable together and contributed to over 50 yards of losses. Parker “Diesel” Bromley had some film worthy stops at linebacker. The Silver team looks forward to Amherst next week.

The second half opened with a great defensive stop lead by the line backing core of Jesse Morin, Hunter Fennessy and Ryan Ashburner. This time it was Conor Mullin who took a great pitch from Owen Umansky and raced 60 yards for the second Bulldogs score following a great Finn O’ Neil pull and Ryan Allard block. The Wildcats took to the air but to no avail with Matt Ferrucci playing great at safety and Parker Henrichon and Sean Greene keeping contain at end. Wallat scored from 25 yards out for the third score on a great block by Aiden Landman and Tyler Moore. Mullin kicked the 2-point conversion on an outstanding snap from the versatile Colin Chandonnet. Connor Guibord and Russ Erwin were very effective all day running the ball as fullbacks and Erwin scored from 25 yards out for the final tally. The Bulldogs play at Amherst next week.

Pee Wee Football The Bedford Pee Wee Jr. Bulldogs upped their record to 2-0 by defeating the New Hampshire Wildcats 27-0 to remain unscored upon through 2 games. The Bulldogs started slowly but gained momentum in the 2nd quarter behind great defensive plays by Eli Raby, Aidan Healy and Hayden Austen, all of whom made stops in the backfield. After Chris Shoals and Aiden Morley made big plays, Ryan Wallat had a sack and a strip that put the Bulldogs back on offense. J.T. DeLacey took a great handoff and followed Nathan DeFazio, Brian Barbaro and Andrew Peicker into the end zone for the first half’s only TD. Michael Remick got the extra point behind Caden Tamburello and Phillip Tuscano.

Junior High League Varsity Football The underdog Jr High Bulldogs team went into Andover Ma and surprised everyone by holding on to a 20 to 16 win as Andover was knocking on the door for the winning touchdown as time expired. Joey Lupo scored gave the team the first score on a reverse, he added another on a Kick Off return, and Tim Greene added the winning touchdown on a pick six in the 4th quarter. The game was a defensive battle and the Bulldogs were led by Linebacker Jack Grogan, defensive tackle Nathan

Roach, Defensive tackle Drew Allard, and a rotation at defensive end with Steven Watson, Matt Swartz, and Jack Jones who personally batted down 4 Andover passes. The secondary was led by younster Hayden Cheney with help from Arron Skaling, and Mikey Akstin. On offense the Andover defense caused problems with their blitzing but QB Jordan Dyer was able to take care of the ball behind the blocking of Charlie Kenessa Williams, Torey Helton, Peter Falvey, Drake Tompkinson, Austin Dearborn, and Colby Martel. Nick Merchant added a huge special teams play by recovering and on-side kick and to signify the total team win. This clash of styles with the wide open Andover spread against the hard-hitting between the tackles Bedford attack was a great learning experience for all the kids and it was certainly a thrill-ride for the fans. The Jr High team is on to Winnacunnet.

Junior High League Jr. Varsity Football In the second game of the season, the JV Bulldogs faced a daunting task going up against a stacked Andover team. On a gorgeous, sunny fall day, the Bulldogs were tested on offense all day but were led by the spirited play of fullback Kyle LaVigne and QB Aidan Wolfinger, both grinding out hard fought 4th down conversions and Lavigne subbing in for an injured Wolfinger, hooking up with Matt Peicker on a beautiful deep pass. Adding to the positive side of the offensive output were Alex Bleakley and Jack Lavoie working the edges of the field. The young Bulldogs all day faced an uphill battle in the trenches with the offensive line charge being provided by Evan Dunn, Ryan Charest, Caleb Boulard and Patrick O'Mara. The defense was tested all day but

first year player Tyler Spires provided a spark with an interception and return deep in the Bulldog side of the field. Dropping back in coverage against a relentless passing attack were Gunner Grant, Spires, Jack Lavoie and Mason Brown, each providing excellent bump and run press coverage. Inside pressure was supplied by the linebacking corp of Nick Merchant, Connor Winn, Lavigne and Caleb Boulard. The line's motor was charged by the veteran leadership of Will Detscher, Teaghan Graham and Ben Sylvain. Damian Martineau and Hunter Ducharme were key to the pressure that aided Alex Bleakley as he shut the door on an Andover conversion attempt. Drew Filteau and Jackson Barlow rounded out the key contributions provided by first year players.
