Minutes from April 2017 were presented. Motion to approve: E. Paredes, second: D. Turqueza Motion passes unanimously. Minutes amended: Rainbow Participants write checks to our Region. Motion: R. Siobal, second: J. Gamiao. Treasurers’ report was handed out to the Board. Discussion of budget submission to National AYSO office due 6/1/17. Motion to approve Treasurers Report by D. Turqueza, Second: E. Paredes Motion passes unanimously Motion to approve changes to the Check Signors Card at American Savings Bank, to remove Lani Ng, Michelle Cardona and add Moana Bjur, Pamela Poepoe, and Cindy Ucol. Motion by D. Turqueza, Second: E. Paredes Motion passed unanimously Registrar: Registration event 6/11/17, 1-4pm, Region is extending the “early bird registration discount. “ Motion to approve Treasurers Report by D. Turqueza, Second: E. Paredes Motion passes unanimously Currently have 338 players registered as of 5/31/17. Idea to honor a volunteer a month. A form will be developed where anyone can nominate a volunteer who should be spotlighted for a month. This information will go out on our facebook page and sent in a mass email to all families. CVPA: Jes Gamiao Currently, there are only 40 registered volunteers in our new system. For instructors, it is requested that all participants are asked to do a volunteer form before coming to the class. AGC’s: D. Turqueza requests that all AGC’s get registered in the Blue Sombrero system so that they can start seeing what players are out there, and begin looking at how the team building may go once all registrations are completed. D. Turqueza also asks that AGC’s log in and browse the site to see what reports they can pull, what information they have access to, and if there are any questions or concerns to get that to him ASAP. Fall Showcase: 6/22/17: 4:30-6:30, and 6/24/17: 9:00-12:30
Referee Admin: There will be referee courses offered in August 5th and 12th. Rob will work with Wes and Mike to help make the trainings go smoothly. The Advanced Referee course has been rescheduled to 6/17/18, participants will have to run a couple miles and short sprints. It will be held at Kapolei Middle School W. McElhannon will do a very quick but thorough presentation at the Parent’s meeting 7/29/17 – recruit parents, describe what a referees job is vs. spectators job and address questions. Coach Admin: U12 Coach Certification held , 10-11 coaches attended and were certified. U8/U10 Coach Certification will be held 7/15: 8:30-10:30 (U8), 10:30-12:30 (U10) – WSC Field 2 At Roadshow on 7/29 an Intermediate Coach Training session will be offered. VIP Program: C. Dung reported that 9 players and 1 new one participated in VIP. Rainbow will offer VIP. Registration for VIP participants is $22.50 New Business: Board Member Appreciation: D. Turqueza recognized J. Poepoe for doing a great job with the U19 schedule for spring. Death of AYSO Volunteer: R. McCarthy informed the Board of the recent passing of a very dedicated AYSO volunteer – Charlie Remington. Road Show – 7/29/17 End of July at the Waipio Soccer Complex. There will be a build out line demonstration for Coaches and Referees. People can take an online companion. A field session will be set up so that Coaches can actually see what the BOL means and allow people to ask questions for clarifications. Stickers: R. Siobal presented the idea of making stickers for our Region. C. Ucol mentioned that we have had several donations on the Blue Sombrero site and she would like something small to send those families. Stickers are $.70 for one. It was commented that the size needs to fit a standard sized mailing envelope to avoid additional postage fees. R. Siobal will take suggestions and report back to the Board.
Website Additions: D. Turqueza has requested help in adding some pieces to our Region Website. Ideas include: Referee Corner, Coach Administration corner, Volunteer Corner, and Team Parent Section.
Fall Select: Applications received by 5/28/17 Deadline: U10 Coaches: L. McElhannon, H. McGuire, Boys: M. Cannella, U12 Coaches: Boys: M. Chun, L. Juarez. Girls: E. Paredes, T. Miyataki. Motion by: L. McElhannon to hold the receipt of Fall Select Coach applications deadline of 5/28/17 for Coaches who submitted as the ONLY Coaches who can participate in the Fall Select Season. Seconded: D. Turqueza. Motion passed unanimously. Refund Policy: Refund drop date is 6/15/17. D. Turqueza is working on a new refund policy to reflect the new policy at the National level. More details to come as they are available.
