SHELL EGG and EGG PRODUCTS FEATURING Promotional activity for regular shell eggs is lackluster as the number of stores featuring eggs is about the same as last week. The average price of Large white eggs to consumers, Grade A or better, continues trending lower. There is an increase in the number of "no price" incentives being offered to shoppers this week. Ads for Medium eggs are showing up more in flyers, however ads for Extra Large eggs remain constant. Featuring of specialty shell eggs declined. Cage-free eggs are heavily promoted. Promotions for other types decrease, including a sharp drop in features for vegetarian fed eggs. Features for liquid eggs increased, which is primarily due to a significant jump in the number of outlets promoting 16 ounce cartons.
