FMHS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB MEETING MINUTES Meeting held 10/14/2015 Call to Order by: President Christina Wilson @6:00pm Present: Christina Wilson, Kimberly Elms, Lisa Sturgeon, Lori Hillman, Michelle Roy, Dwayne Hartsoe, Tim Nissen, Coach Willie Ware, April Foti, Laura Kell, Judy LaFoe, Sharyn Lewis Approve prior September meeting minutes: Motion by: Kimberly Elms, Second by: Judy LaFoe; Result: Pass/Approved Welcome/Introduction -Welcome Laura Kell/freshman parent Treasurer’s Report given by Kimberly Elms Summary Report/all teams in black/good standing/ FY2014 Tax Filing: Federal & SC state completed/ done. Email: [email protected] Concessions and Pink Out did well during FMHS varsity football game V. NaFo. As well as weeks leading up to, and Pink Out yard sale. Need to sell merchandise, have a lot of stock still. Especially cooler weather gear/sweatshirts/long sleeves/jackets. District Meeting: Christina W. attended. Material/Information regarding Booster/PTO type training brought back by Christina to Kimberly Elms. Our checks and balances system at FMHS ABC is Kimberly Elms (Treasurer), and Dwayne Hartsoe (Athletic Director). Kimberly has financial report out weekly to Dwayne.
Player of the Month: Ginger Cutrone (Dance) & Cameron Smith (Cross Country) Still need more coaches to submit more names. Participation Drawing: Drawn by Coach Ware: Amy Kendall & Kendall Aclimide Event Wrap Ups:
Golf Ball Drop: raised $7,000; less than anticipated, but still good for first time. Possibly a good annual event/maybe Spring when all sports teams have or are involved. Look at what worked/did not work, and make changes if needed. Beef’s Spirit Night: no totals yet Pink Out: Over $ 13,000 raised. We presented the “BIG” check at the varsity Pink Out game on the field of $11,500. FB Fundraiser/Yard Sale Sat., Restaurant Wars ($2,850 check today) and Online Sales, are not complete yet, so totals for ALL of Pink Out not tallied yet. Having NAFO participate in Pink Out for the game/night was the first school to do so. Booster Donation VOTE: ABC donates to Pink Out Cause every year, last year was $750. VOTE to stay the same this year or increase amount. Can and will reevaluate each year and vote on amount again. VOTE: 6 votes for increase and 5 votes to stay the same. APPROVED to Increase Amount to $1000. Motion by Kimberly Elms and 2nd by Sharon Lewis to move funds from general account to Pink Out with total donation from ABC to Pink Out at $1000.
FMHS ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB MEETING MINUTES CURRENT EVENTS:
Homecoming/Senior Night-10/30/15. Festivities to recognize senior football players (Dance and cheer will be recognized at a basketball game to come). Beginning of the game, 1st football players will come out with parents and be recognized, then follow with Homecoming Court. At ½ time will be homecoming with Mrs. White organizing, and Senior Night with ABC organizing. We need ribbons for seniors/may need to order/Lori Hillman needs to know and she will order from Judy. She needs at least 1 week notice. Will need ribbons, flowers and stadium décor. Christina Wilson to get information to Kimberly Elms to send out to senior football parents. Games Of The Week: Do we want to continue? Not a lot of feedback so far? Agreed it is great highlight to other teams that are less popular/recognized. Will continue.
Upcoming Events:
Pasta Dinner-2/12/15: Chair: April Fote. Will be the same night as a home FMHS vs. NaFo Basketball game. See if can get pasta donated by Mueller’s. Paulette and Lori Desio to prepare Ziti. Will need to market the event/sell online option/Get info out to winter teams/wrestling/basketball/utilize Facebook & Twitter. Encourage it as a team meal that night. 1st Basketball game is 12/1/15.
AD Report: Dwayne Hartsoe: Fall Sports are wrapping up/delayed season end/playoffs. Swim/volleyball/tennis playoffs backed up 1 week at this point. OPEN FLOOR/NEW BUSINESS: Fundraising-New Business Submit special event ideas Teams Committees: Judy LaFoe : Good comments on how great the program book looks/Venom the New Jacket/Need to sell more programs.
Special Announcements: Christina Wilson will be resigning as FMHS ABC President for personal reasons. More details to come. We will miss your hard work and commitment to ABC!
