Senior Football

The Senior Footballers went down by the narrowest of margins versus Aghada in the first round of the Senior football Championship on a scoreline of Aghada 0-11 to Valley Rovers 0-10 Saturday Night last in Pairc Ui Rinn. Valleys now must face 2009 Senior Football Champiionship winners Clonakilty in round Two.

Check out the General news (on the left hand side) and featured news sections. An archive of all news updates is also available in the news tab on the menu bar If you sign up to twitter and turn on the mobile device notification you will receive a free text message with the General News automatically when it is updated. If anyone needs help setting this up any of the clubs PRO’s (Adult Club, Juvenile Club, Camogie and Ladies Football) will be delighted to assist you. While the site contains many interesting facts and photos the club are actively seeking more items of interest and photos that can be put up on the site to be shared with all members of our club. If you have any photos or items of interest please contact any club officer. Also running presently is a free to enter competition whereby you could win €50 by just identifying two Valley Rovers players, for more details visit the news section of the website. In the past week alone www.valleyrovers.com has had 406 Visits with 1,930 Pages viewed. It is great to see the Valley Rovers Supporters regularly checking up on the club activity. These Supporters are not just from around the parish but from all corners of the world. In the past week alone the website has attracted visits to the site from United Kingdom, Australia, United States, Spain, India, Qatar, Poland and Italy. So keep coming back as the website is updated almost daily. Thanks to Rory Burke of C103FM for providing an Interview he did with Brendan Coleman prior to the Senior Football Championship which can be found on the Valley Rovers website. If anyone has any suggestions of how to improve the website please do not hesitate to contact and of the Club Officers, all input is welcomed.

Upcoming Fixtures U14 A League v Douglas in Brinny Wednesday May 11th at 7:30pm U12 Go-Games Blitz Valley Rovers took part in their second Go-Games Blitz which was held in Carrigaline at the weekend. The girls played matches against Ballygarvan, Carrigaline, Ballinhassig & Sliabh Rua. The focus of these blitz's is skill development, participation and enjoyment which very evident on the day. The next blitz will be held in Brinny on Sunday May 22nd. Panel: Emma O'Brien, Daire Kiely, Eimear Kiely, Adi O'Sullivan, Danielle Murphy, Jennifer O'Donovan, Isobel Lordan, Kelly Lane, Aoife O'Brien, Kate O'Halloran, Lizzy Fennell, Róisin O'Donovan, Sarah Lynch, Carol Cremin, Róisin O'Sullivan. Lá na gClub Valley Rovers Camogie Club hosted Lá na gClub in Brinny on Sunday last. Despite a lot of rain over the weekend, they were fortunate that it stayed dry for the whole event. Fun matches of Hurling, Camogie and football were organised for boys & girls at U8 and U10 levels. A great day was had by all, players and parents alike. Thanks to all who contributed in making the day such a success. Senior League Valleys played their final league game on Friday last in Innishannon against Glen Rovers. Despite being without several players due to exam commitments Valleys put up a brave display, which included senior debuts for some of last year’s U16 County Champions.
