Students will continue their study of Russia and the Republics
Monday: Chapter 16 Section 1 Quiz Guided Reading Section 3, Assessment: Answer Places & Terms/Answer "taking notes"/Answer Main Idea questions/complete Geographic Thinking
Students will quiz on chapter 16 section 1. Students will begin with the study of Chapter 16 - A Diverse Heritage, Section 2 - Transcaucasia Students will identify some effects of the use of Transcaucasia as a migration route. Students will summarize some of the historic influences on Transcaucasia. Students will describe the economy of Transcaucasia Students will identify characteristics of the people of the region. Students will quiz on chapter 16 section 2
Tuesday Lecture/(PPt.)/Notes/Discussion: A Gateway of Migration/A History of Outside Control/Economic Potential/Modern Life in Transcaucasia. Wednesday: Assign: Guided Reading-Determining Cause and Effect/Finding Main Ideas/Reading Comprehension Thursday-Friday: Chapter 16 Quiz, Section 2 Current Events: Students will research a current event and write a summary that will be presented to the class.
Students will conclude the week with a current event that is within the context of World Geography (ie. flora/fauna, culture, and any unique event that sparks interest and learning. This lesson will also fulfill the students weekly writing.
