Weekly Schedule
Students will continue their study of Central America Students will begin with the study of Chapter 9 -Climate and Vegetation, Section 2 Students will describe the climate and vegetation of Latin America. Students willidentify the tropical cliamate zones of Latin America. Students will identify the dry climate zones of Latin America. Students will identify the mid-latitude climate zones of Latin America.
Monday: Guided Reading Section 2, Assessment: Answer Places & Terms/Answer "taking notes"/Answer Main Idea questions/complete Geographic Thinking Tuesday: Lecture/(PPt.)/Notes/Discussion: A VARIED CLIMATE AND VEGETATION/TROPICAL CLIMATE ZONES/DRY CLIMATE ZONES/MIDLATITUDE CLIMATE ZONES Wednesday: Assign: Guided Reading-Making Comparisons, Finding Main Ideas/Map and Graph Skills/Identifying and Solving Problems/Reteaching -Reading Comprehension
Students will quiz on chapter 9 section 2 Students will conclude the week with a current event that is within the context of World Geography (ie. flora/fauna, culture, and any unique event that sparks interest and learning. This lesson will also fulfill the students weekly writing.
Thursday: Chapter 9 Quiz, Section 2 Friday: Current Events: Students will research a current event and write a summary that will be presented to the class.
