Weekly Schedule
Students will continue their study of the United States and Canada (Chapter 6 Section3)
Monday: Guided Reading Section 3, Assessment: Answer Places & Terms/Answer "taking notes"/Answer Main Idea questions/complete Geographic Thinking
Students willexamine the subregion known as the Northeast in the U.S. Students will examine the subregion known as the Midwest in the U.S. Students will examine the subregion known as the South in the U.S. Students will examine the subregion known as the West in the U.S. Students will conclude the week with a current event that is within the context of World Geography (ie. flora/fauna, culture, and any unique event that sparks interest and learning. This lesson will also fulfill the students weekly writing.
Tuesday/Wednesday: Lecture/(PPt.)/Notes/Discussion: The Northeast/The Midwest/The South/The West Assign: Begin Thursday Assignment if time allows.
Thursday: Assign Students In-depth Concepts:Finding Main Ideas practice/Making Generalizations Organizer/Map and Graph Skills/Reading Comprehension Chapter6 Section 3 Quiz Friday: Current Events: Students will research a current event and write a summary that will be presented to the class.
