OCTOBER 15, 2016: Attendance included 20 members and about 20 caregivers including: Kirkland Kiwanis Aktion Club Officers: Pres. Sean McKibben, Vice Pres. - Jeffrey Rohrback, and Sec. Christine Cech. Kiwanis Club of Kirkland (sponsor): 2016-2017 President Mark Tillman, Bowling Coordinator Darcie Cailao & Aktion Club Advisor – Matt Gregory (scribe).

Darcie and Matt checking in Jeffrey with Andrew (with mask), Collin and Sean by parents in back SERVICE: 3 hours – On and off site. 1-hour + preparation time: Advisors got supplies for the mask making project. Corey helped Darcie add elastic strings to each mask. 1 1/2-hour on site time: Members took blank white masks and decorated using markers, stickers, and cards for self, family or friends. ½ hour clean-up: Thank you for helping sort salvaged items from the mess. Leftover materials are to be saved for doing same project next year.

SOCIAL: 2 hours – Bowling at TechCity Bowl, Kirkland and dining at nearby Dairy Queen at Bridle Trails, Kirkland, plus social media time. 1. Costumes: Several members came in outfits like: pilot, policeman, witch, etc. 2. Treats: For those who went to Dairy Queen, members and caregivers got chocolate treat. (Sorry for those who left early, we cannot bring food or drinks into the bowing alley.) MEETING: 1 hour - During lunch at Dairy Queen with preparation conversations. 1. Happy Birthday : Winston Chien 31 on 24th, Corey Gilman 41 on 7th, Jeffrey Rohrback 33 on 25th, and Hannah Simpson-Kuhlmann 27 on 17th. 2. November Service Project: Just enjoy Thanksgiving week and be thankful for our blessings. 3. Membership: We start the fiscal 2016-2017 year on Oct. 1 with 27 members and are adding our summer guest Tyler Eckel, to make it 28. Tyler is sight impaired so speak to him as he cannot see you and needs help with activities. Thank you Kiwanis Club of Kirkland for again paying our annual membership dues. 4. Banner: Thank you Tech City Bowl for saving our banner we left on site last month. 5. Tickets: If your lane machine is putting out tickets, save them for members that collect them or better yet, give them to a child at the bowling alley as our service to the community.

WHAT’S NEXT? November 19, 2016 (3rd Saturday of Month) 11:45 AM at TechCity Bowl for one-hour bowling 12:15 to 1:15 PM and then lunch meeting at adjacent Dairy Queen 1:30 to 2:15pm. 2016 Oct 15
